Not sure if it's been discussed before, couldn't find anything in the search, but just an idea.... Has putting members location under their user name been discussed? Or would it be beneficial to others?

I think I would be a quick identifier to be able to see where people are located in each post as part of their header, maybe help paint a better picture of where others are relative to your location if you see I more often? I know there are area threads like WHO'S FROM TEXAS, etc, but while in other threads it'll offer that as quick reference.

Just a drop in the suggestion box,....thoughts?

Or maybe offer that in the profile as an option if some don't want it in their header?

The first step in my book is to make it mandatory to enter a minimum profile when signing up. One click and I know where you live and what you ride. No header/footer/sig/avatar necessary. Hit the back button.

there was a 'buell owner location' thread. and it was about as pointless as trying to herd cats.

i agreee that your location should be in your profile.

and furthermore i find the Group Buell Motorcycle Meetings section to be very lacking in it's organizational pattern.

hard to look for your area, and find new people to ride with/hangout.

Just put that info in your personal profile then when someone clicks on your screen name it takes them right to it.

after a few years on here, i just met a guy local to me. ...
generally speaking; yes, you get the feel of things after a bit, but obvioulsy i didn't know of him after a moth or two.

i'd think hanging out at the gas station closest to your local twisty roads would be better than reading a 'locations' thread if you wanna meet local riders.

updating your profile with your town and state also helps when posting dibbs on stuff for sale. shipping can be calculated from that

i like the ideal of both more info in profiles, kinda like how xtremelow & other have. and i like the Bueller google Map too it shows the locations of us there to. thats why when a newbie joins i give them those links including this too.
...make sure you fill out your profile!
PERSONAL-PROFILES (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Users-Bikes/PERSONAL-PROFILES)
and dont forget to put yourself on the Buell Map!
New-Google-Map-for-Buellers (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/General-Motorcycle-Chat/New-Google-Map-for-Buellers)
tell us about Your first Buell sighting (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/General-Motorcycle-Chat/Your-first-Buell-sighting) & Why-did-you-buy-your-Buell (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/General-Motorcycle-Chat/Why-did-you-buy-your-Buell)?

so they will fill out there profile and put them selves on the map.
