Whithout the special tool made for our bikes, how can you remove the wheel bearings without damaging them?

hammer and punch, cut a notch in the punch to get between the spacer and bearing, and use some penetrating oil liberally on the bearing, I cut 2 notches in my spacers to make it easier to get on the bearings with the punch, before I bot the "Blind Bearing Puller" from Harbor Freight

Bearings removed from the wheels are not fit for use......

certainly would not recommend reusing them, why do you want to take them out?

I'm getting my wheels powdercoated.
And if i pulled them with this :

and just re-packed them I still shouldn't use them? (i'm assuming is substantially different than auto bearings then?)

re-packed them? what model/year do you have? I would replace them just for S&G, no sense going thru the tear down again, my sealed bearings were relatively cheap insurance, see if Harbor Freight still has the Blind Bearing Puller, it was very inexpensive, and works better than a 3 jaw puller

I just removed mine cause my rims are getting powder coated and I went to autozone and rented for free a bearing puller tool that cost me 170 refundable fee once I return the tool. Works excellent and dont ever have to spend money extra. the tool has a lip that when it expands inside the bearing, you bang it out using the other part of the set that screws in the center. No damage to bearing at all.

I agree with anrkizm95. Theres so cheap to buy off ebay its just not worth taking the chance especially if you had to bang them out strong. I did buy new ones rb tech premium

IMHO...do NOT ever re-use removed wheel bearings. i say this for several reasons. one is that even with the best removal tool or most tender usage of punch and hammer, you will put a side load on the inner race and ball assemblies that does damage, however slight. and at the cost of replacement ALL BALLS bearings, why risk having a problem 200 miles down the road and then going thru the whole hub rebuild process again. i wouldn't risk it.

Ive got ALL BALLS wheel bearings on my bike. No problems here, fit perfect and everything and seem nice quality. I just got my bike running yesterday and have hardly ridden it yet though, so no idea on the longevity of them.

I went to the local ATV/FARM/LAWNMOWER parts house and the parts guy miked them out front and rear, had both sets in stock for ~30 bucks, the fronts were All Balls, and the rears were RBI's, over 25k miles and still like new, I check them religiously now tho, every tire change, and any time it is in the air
