Hello to everyone.
I need a little info and some help please. I have a 2003 XB9R that has a K@N air filter, a Buell Race muffler, and a stock ecm (bought it this way).
The problem is I am pretty sure that the engine is running lean, (it "pop's" aka backfires on coast-down). So knowing this I believe the best thing to do is to remap the ECM.
So with this in mind I have done a few search's and it seems the best thing to do seems to be to get the ecmspy software and cables. What I need help with is am I able to use this with the sock ecm or do I need to get a Racing ecm to be able to change the fuel map to what I need? Will the ecmspy software data log or do I have to go to a dyno.
P.S. Please keep in mind that I am a mech and have made a living repairing, and tuning car and truck for more that 15 years. But this is the first motorcycle I have played with so it is a bit new to me.
Thanks for all the help
