bike runs but gauge cluster is completely dead!

My xb will start and run fine, but i get nothing from the gauges no lights, no sweeps across the speedo or tach, nothing! also neither headlights work.

please help![sad]

I take it you've checked you're fuses. I'd start by checking harnass connectors and especially the neck area is infamous for rubbing through wires and can pull pins from connectors.

Would have said the ecm was toast but, once you mention the headlights, I would suggest a wiring issue.

There are a couple of grounds on the steering down tube, check them.

You might try shuffling the relays around. That's an $8 part.

thanks guys, I pulled some fuses and got the cluster working again. headlights are still dead, but the bulbs are fine. I think I may have the problem pegged at the connector.
