View Full Version : 2007 -vs- 2006 Inner Air Box

I heard that the 07s were coming with a factory open airbox. So, since it was less than $40, I ordered one for an '07 XB12R. Here are the comparison pictures. The 07 is the one with the sticker. You can see that the 06 only has one set of holes on the right side. The 07 has holes on the left side, two sets on the top/front and two carved out areas around the servo bowl. Quite a bit more open even though it doesn't have the original holes that the 06 did. Not too bad for people like me who don't like hacking up the OEM parts from the bike.

yeah doing it that way on the 12's is better if you plan on retaining the interactive exhaust servo. On the 9's its a little better response when you do the whole air box delete, or if you plan on running an exhuast on the 12's the doesnt require the servo.
