Just curious if any one has been able to put handguards on their firebolt to help cut down on wind? Dunno if you work or even look decent but been thinkin about it. I have dirt bike guards layin around and maybe it's possible to do I just don't want it to look stupid

Any input?

A guy I work with had them on his 12R. Don't know which ones he used though.

Something else to consider that might be more productive is finding something to make extensions on your fairing, just something to make it a little wider so it would blow more air around your hands. I've seen them in the past on other bikes and then you wouldn't be left with the clearance issues.

Do you wear gloves? I have a decent pair that I always wear, and I've never noticed any major issues with wind.
P.s. If you do add some deflectors, deffinately post some pics[up]

The factory ones won't fit they hit the fairing...

yeah i didnt think of that. maybe u could use the same mounting local and just trim stock gaurds and drill new holes 2 make em closer to the grip, but might b 2 close to the levers then

I bought and installed a used set from a CityX on my 03 lightning. Love em. Used to freeze my pinkeez even with heavy gloves. Mind u I live in Northern Canada. 4 months of riding if I'm lucky. They not only help keep the wind off but keep my gloves clean from bugs as well.
