imo axle sliders from 50-dro or andrewm (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Buell-Firebolt-XB12-XB9/machined-axle-sliders--are-here) turn signals, hand levers, foot levers, mirrors, foot pegs are usally the first and most common cosmetic mods

some axle sliders or new blinkers are a nice and inexpensive way to add to the look of a bike. Sneak a few shots of the bike so we can check it out!

a rightside air scoop if he doesnt have one its a must i just did it and the bike runs so much cooler i havent had the fan kick on since.

Lots of goodies here: http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=195

Pazzo levers are really nice. I have these on my Aprilia, but they'll work on a Buell too:

http://www.motovationusa.com/mvstore/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=403

You'll likely need to get an LED relay if you get them. Just ask, plenty of helpful people here.

Hmmm I'd love if my wife got me a 1125cr!!! :) jk,
I'll agree with the 50-dro axel sliders!!! Or even little things such as
-aftermarket good looking blinkers,
-tires
-hid lights (stocks suck!)
-does he need any riding gear?
-bike magazine subscription (he prolly has one I bet)
-I like the matter decals for sale on here!!! They make the bikes look good
-buellxb tail light!!!
-if u Wana spend lots get a go-pro of scale g4 if he doesn't have them
-any back up parts such as a belt or something
-right side scoops have tons of good reviews and are a must have if you live in a hot area!!!
-blinker fluid is always good to have around!!!
-does he need a radar detector?
-etc....

Radar Detectors are worth their weight in gold, it would be and awesome gift for a rider. Make sure if you go that route, you get one for a bike not a car, they have their differences.

does anyone know a cheap place to get a motorcycle radar? i was just looking on the net and some of them are sooo expensive!!

Buellin987
08-08-2011, 07:58 PM
A lot of ppl will tell you to only get a bike specific radar, but I personally think a car one would work, and could be mounted on a bike with a little work!, like I have a 12v cig lighter/charger on my bike to plug electronics into

But some radars are you get what you pay for, do some research or see if anybody can find a decent low budget one for you, I don't know much about them really...

anrkizm95

most of the good ones are pretty expensive.my wife got a cheaper one for me 280.00

Being a mod is great. I can see who he is by looking at the IP used. I'm not a big fan of those. How about a LED tail light?

you would need 2 sets.also in some places they are not legal

my opinion...something like that would be perfect. WHAT you get him doesnt really matter, but showing him that you care about his interests enough to go through the trouble to make the effort you are making, does matter. rep point for you.

You really havent given us a price point. But from what im seeing its in the lower range which is perfectly fine btw.

Turn signals- http://www.d2moto.com/p-8936-universal-motorcycle-smoke-led-turn-signals-lights-type-5-short-stem.aspx
I have theses and love them. They are out of stock NOW but you can look at others ones here

20$ will get you two 24' flexable LED strips form Autozone. They fit GREAT under the scoops by the engine. Idk what color his bike is but you can get lights that fit any color of the buells. Just go to autozone. If done right they look amazing at night. My photo doesnt do it justice.

short levers from ride it if he doesn't have some alreadry.
I will never own a bike that doesn't have shorties again.
Car radar detectors without some type of helmet notifcation don't do much you can't get it in the line of sight

Lokl, i took your idea with the blinkers. Thanks, and i am going to kee looking for a radar detector that is not too expensive but works well. Should i go to the local motorcycle shop?...Or do they rip you off?

First off, Congrats and Best Wishes to you both! Most shops will try to rip you off, I've always had more luck finding a well-reviewed model and then searching the web - almost always find it cheaper that way. Here's a couple threads on the subject: Radar Detectors - 1 (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Buell-Lightning-XB12S-XB12Ss-CityX-XB12Scg/Radar-detectors-on-Buell-XB-translucent) and Radar Detectors - 2 (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Buell-Firebolt-XB12-XB9/Buell-aftermarket-parts/Radar-Detectors). Good Luck.

This would make for a good modification gift, the Stebel horn. Here are the mod instructions: http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourself-Buell-Mods/Air-Horn-on-Firebolt-pics--video sold at http://www.amazon.com/Stebel-Nautilus-Compact-Motorcycle-Horn/dp/B000NPRTII.

For Radar on a motorcycle, I would only recommend a Valentine One. When it comes to fines/jail, money is no object on the best equipment.

takes some sexy pictures of you on his buell and make a calender or something, he would problably love that. i know with me its hard to ask my wife for a part for my buell cause i figure she would mess it up its just easier for me to buy it myself

Loki

I win :)
Trust me he will love them tho and they are easy to install and look great. I thought i mentioned this before but i suppose i didnt. Anyways with how great the turn signals are and the cheap price you get what you pay for in brightness. They are only about stock bright in the day time but at night they are perfect. The video on the site makes them look blinding but they really arent. I still love them tho. I had a discount code you might be able to find some more but i dont think they have any running right now. Also if your boyfriend wants everything to be perfect he will need and LED relay. He can mod his own or you can pick on up at autozone for a few bucks. Dont know the model of the top of my head. He doesnt NEED one, his lights will just blink faster then normal. Which i have begun to like cause it catches the eye better with how small they are. Glad I could help! I can get pictures of the turn signals on my bike if you would like.

You could get yourself a Buell, so he has a live in riding partner.

Not to shoot down any of these great ideas but I just wanted to say this: I would not want my wife/girlfreind to try and buy someting for my bike unless I directly asked for it. I'd feel bad if she bought something I didn't like and because out of guilt I'd use /install it anyway so as to not hurt feelings you know? Just something to think about but I know you wouldn't want him using something he didn't like right?
Everyone is different and us fellows are particular about our bikes and how they look. Its kind of a personal thing. LOL What I'm getting at is maybe a gift certificate or simply handing him cash and saying" you must buy something for your bike" would work better.
Most importantly though let me say congrats to you two and may God's love always shine upon your marriage.
Safe journeys [up]

Yeah, i have thought about that. That is why i am not buying him something really expensive for his bike so it won't be a big deal if its the wrong thing. Thanks
