Well. Here's the first pic of my bike on the internet. Not much to say about it yet. The only mod it has is SilverStar headlights. Medium term plans include a Micron Exhaust and tune from American Sport Bikes.

Sweet buell! The black looks mean. I love black but I've always gone for bright colors for the safety factor. It looks sooo motocross. I'd like to get that thing air born! [up]

That definitely looks like a fun bike. I would take all the luggage off it, and catch some air!

I leave the side bags off most of the time, but I need somewhere to stash my helmet and chaps when I'm at work. The top bag works perfectly. The bike would certainly look a lot cleaner without the bag attachment framework on it, though.

Yeah it sucks they couldn't have put a little more R&D into the bag brackets so they could quick detach too. Not too pleasing to the eye.

Here're a few better shots. Showing the bike with the tall shield and w/o the side bag brackets.

The Ulysses looks really mean in black without the side bags. I never noticed the extra cuts in the tread on the front tires of the Ulysses. Do you ride much on gravel or dirt roads? That looks like the perfect bike for the Australian outback, or some more remote parts of the US.

Yeah, but this year they did away with the Dunlops on the models from the factory and went to a Pirelli Scorpion line of rubber.

I cut a piece of 1.25x1.25x.25 aluminum angle down and notched it out so it would bolt in behind the beak. Ended up removing it after a get-off when it bent pretty badly.

Right now, I'm working on how to mount some lights a bit higher up, more at the level of the turn signals or higher.

Tell me more about the Silverstar headlights? I haven't heard of them. I am planning an 08 Uly purchase and am already looking for mods. Also, how tall are you and how does the high screen compare in ride and buffetting to the stock piece?

Happy Holidays!

Howdy! You'll love the '08. The silverstars are Sylvania brand lights. They are still the same wattage, but are a whiter light than the stockers. I feel they make a decent difference, although they're a bit pricey.

Screen-wise, I'm 6' tall with a 32" inseam so I have a pretty long torso. The tall screen was a must for me. I used the stocker for a few months and it was not comfortable for me at anything above about 60 mph. The tall screen adds just enough wind re-direction that I can ride 600+ miles at a shot at 80+ with no real fatigue.

Sweet man[up] I love the added lighting. I might have to copy your style and do something similar on my long.

Now Iv seen the Uly with luggage.... I dont want any. It just spoils the lines of the bike especialy that top box. A derogatory term we use for them in Switzerland is 'Beuty case' :-) Whilst I am being critical that large front screen is lame too.... not for me but hey! each to their own man.

Ref 'Town of Ulysses' photo.... I was wondering about the sign below. What does an un-natural egg taste like I wonder?

These are some great pics. I have had my Uly for about three weeks now and have covered most of the lanes in Southport, i was out until about 10pm last nightand really did not want to stop riding, dispite the wind and rain.

But the darkness did cause a problem. I have tried the new 90% brighter lights mentioned above but they did not solve the problem, just improved it.

Can any one suggest a good place to get aux lights from? I am in England, but the internet is a great tool.

Keep riding! [cool]

Adventure Uly, there is Palmer Products. They sell the mount, wiring kit, and lights for about 80 quid. I did get a Uly airborne in N. wales. It was pretty cool. Waiting for my Touratech bag mounts to get here soon. Going to mount the zega pro 41 liter bags. The big aluminum box adventure cases. They look the best and can solve the lack of fuel range problem, touratech has 2liter fuel cans that mount to the bags.

Riding in the Black Hills of South Dakota on a 2009 Uly. Put on the Outdoorsman cases and Touratech Handguard Extenders on delivery. Just installed the Comfort Kit today and a Madstad 18" adjustable windscreen. The Comfort Kit took about 2.5 hrs. The Madstad maybe 20 min. Can't wait to get out and try it.
