Okay folks - my crappity crap 73 Ironhead Sportster is for sale. First let's get this out of the way: I got screwed. I bought this thing from a friend of mine and long story short he dropped it off in less than good shape after telling me it was good to go and ready to ride. Needless to say I don't talk to him anymore.
So what's the details?
It right-foot shift. It needs all the electrical work finished, it leaks oil like a Harley with a drinking problem, runs pretty good. It has had its points replaced with a digital ignition (haha... "pointless") so it is far more reliable in that regard. The clutch needs to be adjusted but really I'd just take the motor out and go through all the gaskets anyway so you'd do that as well anyway.
I *had* intended to turn it into a proto-buell. I was going to relocate the oil tank to the swingarm and get really creative with it to turn it into a '73 Buell, of sorts. I don't have the time or desire now. But I *do* think its possible and would be cool.
I'll try to link photos. And note its sold as-is, sans title. So price... COme get the damn thing and you can have it for 1,000.
