....can the mods please step in.The extent of our influence is to Delete Spam posts/threads when we encounter them. As far as the Spammer themselves, we can only refer them to the Site Admin. - which has been done. Sorry I can't do more.

Another month gone by, still no fix for this simple issue. Rename Site Admin to Site Owner.

Trust us, we'd love to have the ability to ban these spammers. Unfortunately we have not been given the ability to do so. I'm not sure we'll ever have those capabilities, to be honest. Until something changes, we'll do our best to delete each post as it pops up.

even if they did lock someone out, they would just start a new account

Easy solution that will stop 99 percent of the spammers:

Put all new members in 'moderated' posting status. Have a couple of trusted admins on here to monitor posts from new members. If a new member posts something obviously legit, un-moderate him/her. Posts from spammers selling golf clubs or jewelry will get clipped before we ever see them since the majority of spammers won't waste the time to post something motorcycle related just to get un-moderated and get their post on here. Too much work for them.

Lots of web boards have this ability. Not sure if this one does. I sent this idea in to BuellXB a few months ago. He said he'd look into it.
