I was just wondering if there are any st louis area buell owners on here. And of so, do we ever do cruises? I'm very interested in meeting other buell owners, it seems like no one has the love for these bikes like we do.

Yup there's a few of us out there. We got together last year and d_Adams and I are talking about doing it again this year a couple of times hopefully. There is a thread on here kinda busy so I can't repost it but it's titled Stl meet up and ride or St. Louis meet and ride. Or something along those line.

Id like to see if we can do a meetup and run the river road. There are always lots of bikes up there on the weekends. Think its time for the Buells to represent.

I'm 1/2 hr west of st louis, I usually try to ride the 94-47-100 loop at least once or twice a month if I can. Definitely need more rides in though, didn't get enough last year.

As long as you missed the wife's car, I'm good here, thanks. The girls said the truck bumped a little when they left for school this morning. You know how twin teen girls get when they drive Dad's 4x4 to school...

Wonder what it was they bumped over?

Did that last year, I ended up in the front with everyone maybe a mile back. I wonder if it was just me being so fast or was it the exhaust was too loud?

I live in Hannibal MO during the weekends and by Ft Leonard Wood during the week. I would be down for whatever, as long as its after April 8th and I get a full license again.

Also I own a Steakhouse in Hannibal with plenty of parking if anyone ever wants to meet or anything.

3rd Annual Columbia, MO Spring Meet

Hey guys so its that time of year again for the Third Annual Columbia, MO Spring Meet. This years meet will be held on May 19th, 2012 at Reactor Field parking lot right off of Providence. Last years meet had an attendance of 400+ cars/bikes with 107 degree weather, and an attendance of 250+ in 2010. This meet is open to ANY make/model of car, bike, truck, etc, from muscle to import, and pocket rocket to military vehicles (yes we have had both!). This year the University of Missouri was kind enough to let us use one of their parking lots with a capacity of 750+ spots. We will not be sponsoring a BBQ this year but are working on contracting a food vendor to come out. Also, there will be a cruise towards the end of the meet for everyone to enjoy.

-Just like any other meet I please ask that there be no burnouts, alcohol, etc because we are hoping to get this lot in the future!

-Feel free to copy/paste onto other forums!

Date: May 19, 2012
Location: Reactor Field, Columbia MO
Time: 3pm-8pm

April 7 is rapidly approaching. For me to get there it's a 2+ hour ride up 79. It's been a LONG time since I traveled that far north on that highway, I don't know the condition of the road between Ofallon and Hannibal so if anyone lives up that way, a good road report would be nice.

I'm thinking that if that's the place and the prices are reasonable, start early (9 am? 10?) and get there for lunch. Eat, digest, hang out a bit, then head back this way. That would make it a pretty long ride for some, but I'm thinking I might be game for it.

If anyone else has suggestions or somewhere they want to go, speak up asap.

Thats the day of my manlift training. You have to train annualy to operate a lift which is overkill since i have operated them since 84. The class is over by 1 so hopefully i can meet up next time.

I used to pick up women but that was before I got married. Was lookind forward to seeing one of your pipes in person to see how loud one is if someone was trying to be quiet such as leaving for work at 5:30AM.

Kid1620
04-01-2012, 01:36 PM
Not sure what kind of buell you have but the RT-XB-1 that I just got isn't any loader then the race pipe at idle but once you give it the throttle its screams. So you could roll away from the house kinda quietly. But for the 1125's it a little loud at idle and crazy loud as soon as you touch the throttle

Oddly enough, most of my neighbors are near retirement age and not one has complained about excessive noise until Friday night. Thanks Dave.

J/K. I've never had a complaint about the exhaust and I've made it a point to ask most of the close neighbors what they think. None of them ride bikes at all.

d_adams
04-03-2012, 07:09 PM
Looks like the route might change. Probably looking at running Wild Horse Creek road, St. Albans and back up 94 again. I'm not looking for a hot pace myself, might have some people running 2-up for this one.

Post up if you're going. Start time is still to be determined.

Well, we went, only 3 Buells and one Aprillia. 3 of the 4 bikes had exhaust systems built by yours truly. The 4th guy wants one made and it's for a Triumph 675. :)

Lunch break.

I failed miserably on taking pics, didn't get one of the bikes at all. Vids are uploading, but it's about 7 GB worth so it will be a while. Except for getting trapped several times by cagers, it was a pretty decent run today.

hey guys i'm in the coast guard in TN. we have dock side maitenance scheduled in st luois for about 35 days starting around july 15th. i might have the option to bring the bike with me, but am a little unsure. would any of you be up for showing me some/any good roads if i end up bringing the bike?

or maybe another buell ride with a bunch of people?

d_adams

Sure, I'll be around. I know a few out this way, there's plenty of other places to go explore at as well. The river road on either side would be good, just use caution on the Illinois side around East Stl.
