Yeah, you wanted to take a look just to see what it was. :)

Still needs to be polished yet, testing on an XB9 will begin as soon as either of the local dealers get their dyno fixed. Essentially the same pipe as my original, but with smaller internal cores. Should work out pretty good, the other one made 9 hp more on the xb12.

This has got to be THE worst video I've ever done, but based on Dave's reaction to the way it sounded, I'm posting it anyway.

I don't know when he's going to do it, but he said he's going to sell his Jardine CF pipe to get one of mine. Yeah, it was that good. It's so quiet at idle you'd think it was stock, but just barely blipping the throttle woke it up a LOT.

This is one of those "You get what you pay for" pipes. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.

Short trip to the gas station.

Guess I should have checked before I left, but the tank was already full when I got there. Thanks Dave.

Found a Superflow dyno about 20-25 minutes away that will get me in on Saturday morning for a reasonable fee. I'll be doing both the 2" and 2.5" core pipes as well as a Buell factory race pipe for comparisons. The bike has a race ecm already, so I'm just looking for a apples to apples comparison.

Numbers look good. I did not have a stock pipe or ecm for a true baseline, so the baseline is a factory Buell race exhaust and matched preprogrammed ra,e ecm for that pipe.
This is just from memory, I'll post pics later

Buell factory race = 83+ hp / 70 ft/lbs torque on an otherwise stock XB9.
RT-XB-1 with 2.5” internals = 80+ hp / 70+ ft/lbs
RT-XB-1 with 2” internals = 80+ hp / 70+ ft/lbs

Fueling was pretty good with the factory pipe, 13.5:1 or so.
Both of mine require a LOT more fuel, both were way over 17:1.

Low end torque showed as much as a 10 ft/lb gain over the factory pipe at around 3-4k rpm.

Dyno chart pics as promised.

RT-XB-1 with 2.5" internals. This one made about 9 hp more than stock on an XB12. Looks like it made 81.7 hp on the XB9. AF ratio was almost off the charts, maxed registered AF was 19.1:1 with the bottom of the trough at about 12.9:1 or so.

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu151/dadams1969/exhaust%20stuff/xb/RT-XB1/IMAG0912.jpg

RT-XB-1 with 2" internals. Never tested this on the XB12. I opted for this on the 9 based on displacement. It's also better for repacking. 82.8 hp and 69.8 ft/lbs of torque. AF ratio wasn't quite as bad, but it's still way off. Need to remove a bit of fuel for the bottom, add some on top.

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu151/dadams1969/exhaust%20stuff/xb/RT-XB1/IMAG0905.jpg

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu151/dadams1969/exhaust%20stuff/xb/RT-XB1/IMAG0910.jpg

The factory race can with ecm to match made 83 hp and 69.9 ft/lbs of torque. AF ratio was pretty good at around 13.5"1 with a high of 14.1 at WOT. It could be a bit better, but overall, it's not too bad of a representation of this pipe. All of this was done in one hour on a superflow dyno.

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu151/dadams1969/exhaust%20stuff/xb/RT-XB1/IMAG0906.jpg

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu151/dadams1969/exhaust%20stuff/xb/RT-XB1/IMAG0909.jpg

Lastly a comparison shot of the race pipe on the left, one of mine on the right. They obviously need some tuning to make it right, but what's significant is that mine run very lean even with the race ecm. More fuel in this case WILL equate to more power and possibly quite a bit of it. Also, even though both of mine are lean throughout most of the rpm range, there's no huge dip in torque at 3500 rpm like what you'd see on most pipes.

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu151/dadams1969/exhaust%20stuff/xb/RT-XB1/IMAG0914.jpg

I know this isn't conclusive data, but it's all I had time for this morning. It's just an apples to apples comparison for a race ecm, the factory race pipe and 2 of mine using the same ecm. All of this was done on a 2003 XB9, thanks to Dave for letting me abuse his bike mercilessly.

Will you be testing on the 12 also? A steady curve like that makes me hard.

If you want to supply a xb12, I'll do it again, but I'd need to do it asap or build another pipe, the race can and the new one I built need to ship out tomorrow. I did it before on a different dyno though, showed a 9 hp gain over the stock pipe with no fuel changes on a bone stock 09 xb12scg with the stock ecm.

Stock run, didn't get torque, but it's right in line with every other stock xb12.

http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu151/dadams1969/exhaust%20stuff/xb/IMG_5709.jpg

Ran it with the RT-XB-1 and everything else stock, +9 hp. I realize that it's different dyno's etc. but the results are pretty much the same anyway. Good power/torque and still needs more fuel.
