Just wondering if anyone has tried putting "Angel Eyes" on their Buell? If so, post some pics. I think I might try it this winter. Ebay is full of BMW Angel Eyes that may be modded for a Buell or here's a link to make your own: http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm?20086
Post pics if you have 'em. Here's what they are if you don't know.

It definitely would do wonders for that one eye shut look.

Ive started working on doing mine. Done the "angel eyes" as cup rings in my wakeboard boat and decided I would do a set for my bike's headlights. Not hard to do at all. Just waiting for winter because when I do the install I plan on doing many other projects at the same time.

Josnow, Did you make your own "angel eyes" or buy and mod the BMW's?

i did a practice set of rings...came out decent. i recomend drilling the holes for the leds before you bend it...if you do the homemade versions. i want to do a final set jsut dont have the time...and i found that finding bright enough leds to make it worth it a bit hard.

Yeah, with the time that would be involved, and the BMW ones being on Ebay for just $25-45, I think when I try it, I'll just buy a BMW set off Ebay or something. If someone has done it successfully with a BMW set, do tell which BMW model of lights you used (i.e. BMW E39, E46, 325, or 525, etc.) The BMW ones are really bright and are already wired for a 12volt DC setup ready to go......so it SHOULD be simple after finding the right BMW model that will match the diameter of the Buell's headlights.

Stevenc150, made my own. I used 3/8" dia. acrylic smooth rod, made a 3" dia. jig out of 3/4" mdf, heat the rod with a baken over and bend around the jig until cool. LEDs I used are 5mm from www.besthongkong.com Not hard to do at all. I know the BMW ones on Ebay are affordable, but I am the type of person that likes to DIY whenever possible.

Yeah, I like to DIY too when I have the time, but usually end up on the path of least resistance. My 2 year old, work, and church take up all of my time. All of which are worth it though.

Josnow, post some pics if you have a chance to do the mod on your Buell though.

Stevenc150, here's my first attempt of the angle eyes. Where the ring meets, I installed a white led on one side and a blue led on the other. The white is wired into the headlights to run anytime they are on. The blue will be wired with other blue leds that I install later and will be place on a toggle switch.

I will post more pics when I get home....I still need to do some "fine tuning" on the install. I am pleased with the angel eyes install but the air scoop can use some attention.

Sorry for the delay...here's a couple I took moments ago, bad overcast today so they may be a little to dark. I mentioned earlier I wasnt happy with the install of the ring in the scoop. Where the lights are installed in the ring, I wrapped with blue electrical tape, I need to clean that up.

Try plumbers putty or go to a crafts store and look for a nice thick clear glue...

i know this is an old post but i was down in bike week earlier this month and saw some r6s with this headlight setup. I had been thinking of doing this myself.
Hey josnow: did u ever get them the way you liked? Getting a good set of instructions with a step by step would be awesome[up]

SO I took a stab at it... let me know what you guys think, I do have some appreciation for it but this was not the results I was dreaming about… thinking I should have went with red or blacking out the reflective housing. http://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/3790_20090526100043_L.jpg

not as bright as i thought...do they come on when the key is turned to accesory position?

lavarp

Yeah That also is another reason why I didn't really like the outcome, I thought I would be able to use the lights solo... The lights are on low beam switch.

Finished my lights this afternoon. Kind of along the same lines but uses SMD leds instead of the halo rings. Super bright with the lights on even during the day.

Had these car fog lights on my bike for the year, had to cut the stock headlight assembly up but still retained all the adjustments and plugs, sold them to a fellow bueller on the forum though.

Fat Trucker where did you get your halo's at?
I'd like to do them in LED insted of CCFL i think that they would look better with all of my other LED lights

Lava & Benny, wow guys, way cool!
Lava, I like how subtle yours are.

Benny, man, I'd like to have both lights working, too!
are they still switched, or have you got it set up so they're both always on? can you tell me a little more about the setup? are they both low/high, or stock lighting?
