Hey guys I am a MX rider getting ready to buy a street bike, and love the buells.. and cannot decide between the Lightning or the Firebolt.. is the Firebolt's riding style too agressive?

Thanks!

my firebolt is more comfortable than my sv650s was. with the 2 inch drop pegs and the lightning tail its much more comfortable.

I switched to a Firebolt from the Lightning because I thought the Lightning seat was a bit uncomfortable. I changed tails, and eventually did the whole swap.

we have both. you are leaned over more on the firebolt than the lightning of course. but it is not as agressive as a jap bike. the ride position is very good. we have ridden 900klms days and no worries. i personally like the ride position of the firebolt more than the lightning.

My 1st Buell was a Firebolt and it hooked me on Buells. But long rides(100+ miles) got to my wrists and back, so I went to Lightnings and they fit me much better. Some can, some can't.

I'm 41 years old and 6'1" and I do 700 mile days on my stock Firebolt. I'm gonna ride from San Diego to Fresno and back next weekend but I will be a liar if I said I did not hurt after I get back but I can still do it.

Yep the Firebolt killed my wrist on long rides, due to the rear tail being mounted pretty high, When I put the lightning tail on with the low seat, it is night and day difference, way more comfortable and looks cool too. See the difference, yes that is the same bike.

I have a Firebolt. I'd rather have a Lightning.

Firebolts are more agressive with ridin position/curves/twisties and really easy to maneuver on the highway with little effort.

U can get cramped up a lot, and the front end feels rigid after a long ride but they corner & carve superbly and all the electrical is mostly under the front fairing too.

I find my firebolt to be VERY comfortable, all things considered. I can ride all day no problems. IMO, ANY bike is a challenge to stay comfortable on, I mean really who wants to sit in one position continually.

I can say though that it is not too much of a lean. It is significantly more comfortable than my father in laws sv1000, my old suzuki bandit, my dads harley road king, my brothers victory(dunno the model), his sportster, my buddy's ninja, etc....

Honestly the most comfortable bike I've ridden. My legs(knees) do get sore eventually but I am 6'4" so huge guy on tiny bike lol, a lot of bend in the knees. I have almost no issues with my wrists/hands and I have very sore joints(had surgery a while back). My hand would kill me on my suzuki and it had real bars, for some reason I have no issues with the buell's "clip ons".

my bolt is comfortable to an extent.... i love riding it around with out a back pack, but if im going to school the back pack will kill my back. and longer rides hurt my back a bit. but then again everything hurts my back

im going to try the drop pegs soon, those are suppose to help. and maybe ill get some padding added to the seat.

and for me it was the opposite, I tend to hold my upper body up with my abs/back. The tail on the bolt seemed to short to me. I had a custom seat made that raised the back 3" and now I find it to be extremely comfortable.

I bought my first bolt in Columbus, rode it back to Chouteau Oklahoma in 17 hours with a nap in there. 900.9 miles and I thought it was fine.

back pack will kill my back.

You said it.Other than that, All is great! I do like the lightning posture alot as well, But i cant buy a second bike till next summer so its just the bolt for now.

I have a meesed up back so it felt great going from a ninja to the firebolt. the only problem was not enough legroom so adjustable pegs fixed that.
you can always raise the clip ons.

I have a firebolt and it was a bit rough on my butt until I got the select seat, only thing now is I have short arms and will be putting much better bars on it soon, the ones on it now kill my wrists after a long ride.

Owned both firebolt and lightning. Riden dirt bikes since I was little. But a lightning hands down. You can always mod it
