New to this fourm. i dunno what happened to the old one but anywho, i was checking ebay for some deals, bikes, etc and came across a blast with a ducati 620 shock and was wondering if anyone is running this if so hows the ride? lol even though im not a heavy person im not content with my rear suspension set up. It just feel soft and I want do change it. this is basically the only solution ive seen the the rear shock besides getting it rebuilt and it doesnt bother me that much to have it done $$$$

Popular swap is CBR 1000 swap - forgot the year, but you'll find it in that chart, modification of lower mounting needed - shave about an 1/8 or 1/16 off each side, and apply 1" lowering shock shim - these shocks are inexpensive on ebay, can be rebuilt, and are a wildly good improvement, without the price of a Works shock - what I run.

Hi guys

this is a great forum.
I have a 2002 XB9S Buell.

I want to lower the rear shock so my bike is about 2 inches lower. Is there a compatible Japanese Rear shock that will do the job, you mentioned the CBR 1000.
Does that lower the bike at all or will it be the same height As the original

I live in Hong Kong and there is only a handful of Buells Here, but loads of Japanese bikes. So looking for parts is like mining for gold in Tasmania.

Or can I modify the original shock somehow? any advice or Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Aldo.

Trade forks, and shock from a 9sl or 12l, and seats - should be golden and easy swap - use parts from any of the low Buells.
