Hey people, Can you give me some feedback on bags or luggage for Buell XB's. Aftermarket bags are welcome.

I am getting ready for a trip to the lower parts of Arkansas from Wichita Kansas and need some input. I sold my bags with the last bike I had ten years ago. I just got a Buell XB9R.

I'm sure BuellPartsGuy or 2Evil4u will be able to answer those questions. What year is your XB? Post a picture of your bike. If you can't host the image you can email your image to me and tell me where you'd like me to add your picture. jeremyrde@yahoo.com

You can get tailbags, tank bags, small saddlebags, and nice sling backpacks to haul quite a bit of stuff. Log onto www.Buell.com (http://www.buell.com) and look under luggage and see the selection there.....let me know if you have any questions.

Please don't take this a being a jerk. I know that buell has bags. How do you like them?
I know that there are some riders that have other bags other buell's.
Sorry, I left the question open.

I have a tank bag, and I like it. Its easy to use and easy to remove and install. I sold a set of saddlebags with the tail bag and the guy loves them. They are also very easy to take off and put back on. Plus in comparison to aftermarket bag makers, Buell makes them direct for the model and they are guaranteed to fit and fit right. Not to mention, they arent that expensive.

And to post an image it has to be viewable from a website to be able to post it, or have buellxb host it for you and then post it. Otherwise it won't show up

I personally dont like bags(other than removeable tank bags as mentioned above) on buells or other bikes for that matter.

It it doesn't fit in my pocket, it ain't worth carrying it. My 2 cents

Thanks paper clip, I'm going to be gone for five days. Otherwise that's what I'd say.

For five days a tank bag should still be good. You can get an expandable bag and it should have all the room you need. The main reason I like those is the fact they are removeable, and you can then go riding wherever you are at, and not have excess baggage.

If I were you I would not put bags on your buell.

Go to cydeventure.com (http://www.cycleventure.com) They go way out of their way to proove how friendly they are too. Check out the Ventura bag, click on fitments and see a pic of your bike with the bag sitting on the rear seat. Simply amazing stuff. I have used Ventura bags for many years now, and the grab rail looks good when you are not touring.

Here is a pic of my bike during a business trip--had to pack pretty heavy, things like work boots and hardhat take up a lot of space. I'm using the Buell tankbag and tailbag, and a basic set of Voss soft bags tossed over the back. Works great--I've done other trips where all I use is the Voss bags and tailbag (the tailbag pretty much lives on the bike--it's great having a "trunk," even a small one). I put some soft rubber stuff used for lining tool drawers where the Voss bags rest against the body plastic, and there hasn't been any marking since I started doing that. I also use bungee cord to secure them against swinging in or out.

I know, not as elegant as hard luggage, but it works for me...and I can take the luggage off and have no racks or other stuff left behind.

Working on mounting the frames to support a pair of 38L Zega Pro panniers from and wondering if anyone else has done this.

Zega Pros are +$1000. Why not buy a Goldwing?

Rode down to Florida for bike week from nj had the Buell tank bag, tail bag, saddlebags from asb.com, and strapped a small bag with a waterproof cover on top of the tail bag. Only issue is with the tail bag, the zipper came unthreaded in the middle so I have to line it up when I open and close it, but still works fine I'll just try to find someone who can repair it.
