Belt will last longer, I think "better" is a matter of opinion.

Belt is better due to lack of needing maintenance. Dont need to lube or tighten a belt before you ride.

After riding bikes since the 70's i'll say belts HANDS DOWN! No oiling every 500 miles, no oil flying all over your wheel, ect., no adjusting a chain 500+ miles, no worn out chain every 12-18,000 miles ect! Unless your drag racing a bike with way over 120 horsepower you don't need one!
