Hi all.
My 2005 XB12r has 1500 miles on it. Bought a used race muffler. Looked online for race kit instructions. Says to be sure to replace front muffler band.
The one on my bike is pristine. Bike has never even been in the rain. I don't want to tempt fate, but what is the reason for this instruction? Cost for the band is not the issue, just anxious to get the thing on without the wait for the band to be ordered and getting to the dealership to pick it up.
Again, just curious as to reasoning. If its simply a matter of proper shop procedure, like not reusing gaskets or cotter pins or drained engine oil, I'd like to know.
