I'm not finding if you've guys already talked about this, but has anyone found something to attach their helmets to the bike. Maybe somekinda mod? I hate carrying my helmet with me and I hate just leaving it there hanging on my passenger peg while I run into the store real quick. Let me know, thanks guys, you all post really good stuff.

There is a small cable in your tool kit that has two loops on it. Putt that through your D ring on your helmet, then put the two open opens around the seat lock. :D

the 1125r comes with a little tab under the rear seat where the D ring of the helmet can fit without the cable thing... I wish my lightning had one of those!

Some guy on ebay sells these (http://cgi.ebay.com/Buell-firebolt-xb9-xb12-xb9r-xb12r-helmet-hooks-latch_W0QQitemZ260298726952QQcmdZViewItem?hash=ite m260298726952&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C 240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

I have the ones that Thaloc posted, they are "ok". The only reason I say just ok, is my scorpion 1000 would not work with these locks. However, my HJC and Suomy both work fine. If you get them, I'd paint them black to match the compartment, and make sure you place them in the correct position. I had to re-drill one side.

See I actually like using the supplied cable. It allows me to set my helmet on the passenger seat. I used to hang it on the side, but a$$holes kept walking too close to my helmet and scratching the top of it! Now I set it on top and away from large lumbering asses.

thanx speedkills, I like the first one yo posted. The helmet cable is what I had to use when I wore my old scorpion 1000. Just looked funny with one high and one low.

Jacobs, personally the one speedkills linked us looks like it would be interesting. However, the one I use is pretty cheap. And it works just fine.

Hey thanks Josh, speedkills and everyone else. I knew about the cable but was skeptical about that tiny thing. Hearing that quite a few people actually use it and like it is a relief.

I use one of these threw my triple tree and my chin bar on my helmet. My helmet just sits on my air box and I dont have to take my seat off.

I've seen people just use simple bike locks as well. You don't have to spend much $ that way.

Gator, I'm taking your idea. Normally I lock my helmet with the supplied cable and set it on the seat. After too many people scratched my helmet with it locked on the side, I decided to wise up and lock it on top of the bike.

I took the idea from ebay and made my own that resembles it. Ill try to get pics up. But as far as those from krokin(sp) harlet actually sells one like that tha ]t I used to have. I just simply mounted it on the passanger peg bracket, and it worked great till the locking pin fell off BUT not while I was riding lol.

Hey i like that where it goes on the swingarm, but I'm not sure if i wanna get rid of the belt guard. I wonder if there's any way to mod that guard so i can install that lock too. Maybe a little cutting and some longer screws. Thanks Steven

Anyone know a place that I can get the helmet locks shown above that mount under the passenger seat? I see someone was selling them on Ebay at one time but I haven't been able to find them. If they can't be purchased anymore is anyone have the ability to make some?

i drilled and tapped holes in hte subframe under the pass pillion. the bolt heads keep a firm grip on the d-rings. but the master locks on the pass pegs is my favorite so far. simple, cheap, any body can do it. the elegant solution.[up]

I take mine where ever I go too. The cable works great if I really wanted to leave it for some odd reason. Altho I do dig checking out all the little gadgets, im tring to keep my bike a simple, lean, canyon carving machine. :D

Joel, got the lock from web. Kuryakyn Universal Helmet Lock (either black or chrome), comes with two keys. Fabed up a piece of Alum to match holes from buddy-peg, and lock assembly, loctite allens. It's an easy mod. [up]

Inexpensive gun-lock cable. The rubber coating makes it safe for painted surfaces and helmet. My (nanny)state makes you buy one when purchasing firearms. I use a safe instead, so now it's good for something.

I use a Mossberg cable lock (yes for guns), fits thru the footpeg holes, is plastic/rubber coated so it won't scratch and is the perfect length to run through the the helmet face.

You can hang your helmet right on your footpeg and if it falls off the peg it won't hit the ground!

Another plus the key is very small so it doesn't add to the bulk of your keyring![cool]

Anyone have the part number for the buell helmet lock jet6 posted pics of? I really like the idea of one key for everything.

Just picked up this one from Wally World for $8.95. Helmet on tank or on top of tree. Two helmets work no problem.

this is what I will be doing to my firebolt when I get home. all the guy did was drill hole in the side of the subframe and screw a mirror hanger into it so you can hang your helmet off the side like most jap bikes can from the factory.

I had to come up with something on my last bike because I had replaced my d-rings with a buckle made for helmets. I bought an extra buckle, put it on a short strap, and bolted it to the subframe under the passenger seat. Then I just buckled my helmet strap and shut the seat over it. If you're using the normal d-rings you could do the same exact thing with a strap and a small one of these.....
http://www.godgirl.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/pr-key-accessories-key-clips-carabiner-clip-a61-1.jpg

Just clip it onto your d-ring and lock the seat back on so the carabiner is still under the seat and no one can get at it.

Not a lock but would certainly frustrate somebody trying to take it.

A small carabiniere attached to the frame with zip ties, tucks away nice when not in use.

That mirror hanger idea is from the 1125's helmet hook under the rear seat. I have been talking to a friend of mine and he works in a fab. shop and he's going to make me a few pairs of those hooks that are on the first page. I think they are the first pics, the black tab hooks... This way I won't be needing to get a bungy net or lug around a helmet in my backpack anymore.
