I've seen lots of guys removing the airbox and putting on a cone style filter but can't find any details about the swap. Anyone have a detailed explanation/ instructions?
I know I'll have to rejet and fabricate a support bracket for the carb.
In the stock airbox there's the hose off the PVC that has one end running into airbox and other going back the the rear. The airbox end looks like it has a factory plug in it. What is this for? Since its already capped do I need to do anything with it?

Nice looking setup but way too rich for my budget. I like how close in it sits.

There is an adapter boot you can buy off American sportbike that allows you to make your own.

Spoke too soon. They don't sell them anymore.

Dan has his own proprietary rubber formulation for his intake boots. His intakes have also had years of R&D and durability testing. If you make your own intake, you're mostly on your own for tuning since no one else has the same thing to reference.

I've been down that road before; still am, but I enjoy it. If you don't enjoy weeks of troubleshooting, save your money and buy the proven products. Otherwise you will hate the bike because, "it sucks and it's slow" when in reality it's your own fault for cutting cost corners.
