View Full Version : Ads obscuring parts of posts

I don't know of it's just me or the fact that my computers a mac, but lately I've encountered several instances where the ads on the right side extend into a thread and actually obscure part of the writing so you can't really read the posts. Sure I can guess what the post probably says, but does anybody else have this problem? Is there anything to be done about it? I can never find a way to close or move the ads.... all actions result in effectively clicking on the ad. That's a little ridiculous.

I think it has more to do with how people are attaching their pics. I use photobucket and make sure to one or two empty lines between my text and pics. I've never had any issues with things I post.

I just look at it this way..... If they can't take the time to post in a way that it's 100% readable........ I ain't takin the time to decipher it to see what they are selling.

if the web developer wont take time to fix the problem why should i even visit the forum. obviously i like this forum but i think your frustration should be directed at the root cause. this topic is posted about once a month which im sure you know, but have you seen anything about actually fixing it.

It's all in how they post the pics..... I've never had any issues posting with pics linked and having a ad cover any part of my post. I do agree that it could be better but at the same time there are ways around the issue. Face the facts here...... We have been asking for this to be resolved for some time. It hasn't happened yet so the only other thing to do is play within their boundaries if you want to play at all.

I used to have the same issue when using Firefox or Chrome, no issue with MSE. Installed the Adblock plugin as Kona has said and no more ads blocking the first post.

I do admit there is an issue with the web dev only coding for MSE and not the other browsers.

cause something in the programming was changed and now many of us have to scroll down forever (past the bottom of the ads) before we get to any content. every.****ing.page.

Copy the text, and paste it into the message box below. Fixed.

/\ That's the old problem of ads covering the posts. With the new programming, text isn't covered - no reason to copy and paste. Have to scroll to get to the text.

I've gone from the origional issue to the infinity scroll myself. Hope this gets fixed, it's my new least favorite first world problem.
