I am liking the New Sexy all black engine and transmission of the 09 Firebolt, even the black frame, but since I plan on coating my frame and other things, instead of tearing apart and trying to Coat all the bits on my engine, can I bolt in the Newer engine and tranny? That way I get the Appearance I want, PLUS the bonus of the Nice new oil pump etc. Can I do this? Would I have to get the Odometer Reset? Because it's the Milage on the engine it represents right, not the frame? Would my older headers still fit or did they change to go around the new oil pump? they LOOK the same but they could be slightly different. I don't know. Thanks

It would be more than you think. The ECM, harness, some of the sensors, and a few miscellaneous other things are different. It wouldn't be just simply bolting in the new engine. Cost wouldn't merit....

But Could you do it? If you had your Bike torn to bits why not? My bike is paid for, I could finance the cost, and sell the old engine to lower expenses. This wouldn't be a Today upgrade but in the plans. Will it match up?

Well, just to break part of it down for you

Engine - 19288-09 - $4995.00

Harness - Y0136.5AA - $368.00

Throttle Body Manifold - P0803.5AA - $530.00

Stator - 29971-08 - $119.00

Rotor - 30029-08 - $141.95

Regulator - Y0302.5A8 - $78.25

This is just a small sampling of what you will need to replace. Want me to keep going?

I would just take your paid off bike and trade it. That way everything is new.

Got it, will have to pull all my mods off and put stock stuff back on. Gotta collect some bits again. Will be a headache, but will be cheaper. Thanks BPG.

Keep in mind that some of the 09's still have the same problems that the 08 have. That include mine.
