We used to call those "rice bulbs" back when we'd put them in our hondas. I think they're less bright

Less bright? How much less? Like, cant see at night less? Anyone have experience with these. I mean, if they wont harm my bike I'll buy 'em just to see.

consider the rice lights like this...

You have a normal autoparts store brand 55Watt bulb and it puts out X amount of light. Now you have the same bulb, but with a dark blue glass. A lot of energy, or brightness is lost when you only let the blue light shine through... You are subtracting a lot of extra light from the equation...

any time you filter a white light, you are going to lose brightness.

You'll most likely see an improvement over your current bulbs. Bulbs loose intensity over time, so any new bulb will be brighter, but they wont be as bright as standard bulbs.

The best bet for lighting is HID or LED being how they never loose intensity. LED technology hasn't reached the point going in headlights yet, so you're stuck with HID for good headlights.

now to find a place to hide the ballast and igniter

that why you buy a slim ballast with built in igniter and put it in your airbox...done

I see now. So they are essentially painted versions of what I have now. But the H7 is correct tho right?

yup. It should list all your bulb types in the manual

Not necessarily, some times they increase the wattage of the bulb but dont go to much higher or it could damage the whirring harness. My advice, get an HID kit. HID's Run cooler, last longer, and produce three times as many lumens per watt.

Just replace them with a set(2) Sylvania Silver Star, you can purchase them at any local auto supplier (Pep Boys, DIscountauto, Autozone, etc.) and if you don't mind waiting try fleabay probably 50% than local stores. I've them in my bike for about 6 months and I'm really happy with them.

silver stars here too, brighter than stock without doing the whole HID thing yet. $40 give or take at autozone. i did my breather reroute and bulbs for less than $75 last month, everything at autozone.
