2006 ulysses ,turned on key and run switch pressed starter it clicked then no electric. pulled key put back in started but all trips and clock reset as if battery removed. ran fine to work then same thing happened .turnon key lights work fuel pump runs but as soon as starter button is pressed bike looses all electrical power.bike is stranded at work now any ideas

Generally speaking, it sounds like a weak battery or more likely a battery cable that's not tight enough.

agreed. take a wire brush to the terminals and rough them up. make em look gnarley, then tighten the lugs back on there something fierce.

Either that or your starter is grounding itself out once power is applied.

Check all your grounds at the Steering head... Also Look at the inside of all controls on the handle bars...

rerouted and tightened positive cable to battery pulled out slack from cable possible grounding issue havent found any frays so far while inspecting harness , positive cable doesnt bolt flat to aftermarket battery had to file down some plastic edgeto get lug to tighten fully with thread lock seems good now battery tested good.plan on riden from huntley il. to the dragon in a few weeks hope all will be well
