View Full Version : Sign in twice

Why do I have to sign in twice before it lets me stay signed in? Really annoying, and on any computer...

10-17-2012, 01:49 PM
Hell 99% of the time I dont even have to sign in! I come to the sight click on the Buell Forum button with no info in the boxes and I am in. Never had to sign in twice though?

10-17-2012, 01:52 PM
Unless I shut my laptop down compleatly I don't have to sign in. My phone has never asked me to since the day 1st day I logged in on it.

10-17-2012, 02:23 PM
I have to sign in twice as well, but only on my laptop. On my cell phone I don't ever have to log in. I think it has something to do with internet settings?? Maybe cookies or firewalls or something like that. My laptop is a work laptop so there are all kinds of firewalls and antivirus software installed which sort of makes it "invisible".

I always log out of everything after having information stolen from me.

It's annoying logging in twice...

10-17-2012, 03:59 PM
On my computer I log in once and when it doesnt log me in I click the buellxb banner and then it logs me in. [confused]

On my phone I am always logged in.

I just noticed that even tho I'm signed in it doesn't have me online at the bottom of the page.

10-17-2012, 04:20 PM
It doesnt show me either, I think it shows only other users.

10-17-2012, 05:04 PM
It shows me.....Maybe only those with correctly positioned gas caps??????

10-17-2012, 07:34 PM
Can't b that I just put on my blue ebr cap kit lol

10-17-2012, 07:46 PM
lol aftermarket doesn't apply....

10-18-2012, 05:26 AM
On my computer I log in once and when it doesnt log me in I click the buellxb banner and then it logs me in. yep works for me everytime too.

10-18-2012, 05:32 AM
What happens is I log in, then I click a thread and I'm logged out. So what I started doing was log in, then click the banner at the top and log in again, then it sticks...

How much information can you really have stolen from a forum? The only thing I could think you'd be worried about is passwords? If that's the case you should have different passwords for different stuff.
If you are worried about more my question would be why do you have important info on a forum. When signing up you they don't ask for ssn or anything. Technically you don't even have to give the forum your real name or main email.

10-18-2012, 06:08 AM
^I understand and unfortunately don't have a different password for everything. I'd have about 100 passwords if I did that. It's just good practice to log out of everything I use. I logged in to my bank on a school computer and it stayed logged in and someone got it after I left. I thought by closing the internet explorer it'd log me out but it didn't. So I just log out of everything now...

How is your gas cap positioned?

Damn it. I had to sign in twice just to post on this thread. Just to say that this happens to me as well:(

Not every time but prolly 80% I have to sign in twice and when I sign in the first time it appears that I am signed in. Click of another page and then I have to sign in again.

Maybe only those with correctly positioned gas caps??????
And why is it even discussed regularly; which way a gas cap should face. It only goes one way. Think about it for two seconds and it ought to make sense. "Which way does it go. Which way does it go George"

You can't become a moderator 0h9 because then you will have too much power and ban me for screwing with you...

10-18-2012, 09:07 AM
Meh I would never ban someone for having a little fun joking with someone that is joking back with them, it is when it becomes a serious joke that I start taking offense to what is said.

Your gas cap says lleub.

10-18-2012, 09:25 AM
lol. where do you live 0h9?

10-18-2012, 09:27 AM
Leesburg, VA right out side of Washington DC.

I go down to Fl at least once a year to visit family, I told my wife the next time I to down I want to ride there. We should meet up if that happens.

10-18-2012, 09:35 AM
Definitely. Where about in FL?

10-18-2012, 09:48 AM
St Petersburg, that is where I was born all of my family still lives there.

10-18-2012, 09:51 AM
Ok, few hours away. There's some decent riding in between. I'm sure FlaX would be good for a ride as well.

10-18-2012, 10:55 AM
I'd have about 100 passwords if I did that.

Obviously you don't need a different password for everything but your forum passwords shouldn't be the same as your Online Banking no matter what. I probably have 5 passwords. I share the same password with most things like Forums, Photobucket, Fantasy Football, etc... but as for Online Banking the that password is for that and that only.

I love the convenience of not having to log in. If I had to log in every time I wouldn't post very often because I'm to lazy to log in.

I'm down [up]

10-18-2012, 11:02 AM
Yeah but I pretty much log in once a day and leave it up.

10-21-2012, 01:50 PM
are you using google chrome by chance and saved Buell XB on one of the boxes? had it set up on my laptop like that, it's a google chrome thing...google search "duoble click" forgot what it was, it will tell you how to stop it from doing that.
bookmark Buellxb into your tool bar instead, no issues there

10-21-2012, 02:08 PM
i do use chrome.....don't understand the rest of your post though...

10-27-2012, 02:32 PM
this is what I was referring to...

double click...mircosoft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DoubleClick)

read the "Criticism" section...I believe this is what was happening when I did the "opt out" option, but it didn't work and would have to sign in twice in order to log in...
