12-03-2008, 05:24 PM
Just purchased a KLEEN. Looking forward to replacing that plate that’s in there now. I liked the hooligan, but I know I would be missing those speedo numbers when the tin man decides to follow for a bit. For now though, this will sit in my office in the pile of other parts I plan on fitting this winter. I'm working on building a workshop for my bike so it’s at my pops garage at the moment. Waiting for a cold weather concrete pour is painful for someone with no patience.

12-04-2008, 02:46 AM
Just ordered the hooligan can't wait

12-04-2008, 02:53 PM
thanks, guys! [up]

6 Hooligan and 15 Kleen left as of this AM.. .

12-04-2008, 04:24 PM
Hey Typeone,

I believe I like a Kleen one.

12-04-2008, 04:36 PM
Sounds good, John. 15 Kleen still left, hit up the website when you're ready. http://www.pdgmoto.com

12-04-2008, 05:34 PM
Are they treated with some kind of UV protection so they don't fade in the sun?

12-04-2008, 05:43 PM

I will do that and happy Holiday's to you and your family.

What handlebar are you using now?

12-04-2008, 05:46 PM
Bill2, yes, all inks have passed Accelerated Weather Testing to 750 hours per SAE J2020. 1,000 hour test in progress.

From my website description under 'What Is It":

"Top quality, marine grade, UV safe, screen printed designs on laser cut polycarbonate with white illuminated numbers. These aren't just thin, temporary 'skins' but full-on, OEM spec replacements."

12-04-2008, 05:47 PM
John, appreciate it! Happy Holidays to you and yours as well.

Regarding bars, I'm back to running my ProTaper 'fatbar' with Rizoma oversized clamp setup. Love 'em.

12-04-2008, 05:48 PM
Yea...that is a nice setup!!

12-04-2008, 09:37 PM

killer! you're very welcome, thanks for the biz [up]

01-02-2009, 11:14 PM
got mine too!!! Now if I can just get my gauges off my firebolt I'll like my face plate even better

01-03-2009, 12:14 AM
Are you going to make anymore of the flame ones in KM/H?

01-03-2009, 01:15 AM
I dig the flames ones those are pretty cool, is there any chance down the road that you will do custom ones for people ?

01-03-2009, 12:44 PM
probably wont do any more flame KM/H, unfortunately.

ShawnB, ive looked into custom, and i'd still like to figure out a way, but currently its too expensive for me to make one-off faceplates of the same quality. theyre in the area of $1200 to produce, thats nuts.

i have a few other ideas around the custom option but havent had a whole lot of time to experiment with materials and inks again.

01-03-2009, 06:03 PM
got mine yesterday. Gonna install tomorrow.[up]

01-03-2009, 09:14 PM
Ohh dang I see that would be pretty nuts. Any sneak pics for future ones. I should be purchasing the mph Black*kleen one in the next few weeks.

01-11-2009, 09:03 PM
Got mine on the other night. Looks great. Thanks alot

01-12-2009, 02:03 AM
Got mine the other night too. Looks absolutely awesome and I can't to... well... to get a Buell to put it on lol. me ftl :(

02-12-2009, 02:01 AM
Hey typeone
Do you have a picture of the Kleen Back lit? I want one but I am holding off until I know what is transparent and what is not.

02-12-2009, 12:53 PM
nitto12ss, sorry, i don't have any backlit pics handy. for the Kleen design, the white numbers/letters, tick marks and red numbers are translucent.

02-12-2009, 02:21 PM
Just bought the Kleen and thanks for your help regarding my question. I will post picks when it is installed, Both day and night shots.

02-12-2009, 03:46 PM
got it, thank you! some night shots would be helpful, appreciate it. i just kept forgetting to take nice night shots w/longer exposure.

if it helps, the diffusion pattern on the back is an exact duplicate of the stock diffusion pattern. you'll see this when you open yours up. i get lots of questions on the sub-surface print. its not paint splatter :D

02-18-2009, 12:53 AM
Hey typeone,
Just got the "Kleen" today, and as promised here are the picks.

Kleen day time

and the long awaited back lit shot

All I can say is this is a relatively cheep way to change the look of your bike, and the quality and workmanship is excellent.
Thanks typeone [up]

02-18-2009, 04:59 AM
really appreciate that, nitto! thanks again [up]

03-03-2009, 02:55 PM
update: i have another small run of faceplates in production that will begin shipping the week of March 23rd. all 4 designs are available but limited.

03-04-2009, 05:40 AM
Thanks for making some KM/H ones [up]

03-04-2009, 01:58 PM
you're very welcome, thanks for the support!

03-13-2009, 03:48 AM
Does anyone have 1st hand knowledge of how these hold up over time. I think they are great and look amazing, but I am only worried about rapid fading or curling of the material from being under the sun or moisture. Any comments?

03-13-2009, 12:21 PM
Orion, I'll let someone else speak for the durability but I'll just add that they are produced to marine grade specs, all inks weather tested, printed on material just as rigid and thick as the stock faceplate.

My printer produces faceplates and gauge overlays for Harley, Chris-Craft and Case among many others.

04-22-2009, 02:41 PM
FYI, still a few faceplates left from this last production run. visit the site for quantities of each design.

08-03-2009, 02:16 PM
BigT999, sorry, didn't see any messages from you. I sold my mask to another Bueller a while ago but USPS promptly lost it on it's way to him. AWEsome :(

08-03-2009, 02:39 PM

08-19-2009, 11:49 AM
Does anyone have the hooligan face plate and would be willing to sell it to me? keep checking the website but they don't have any in stock.

08-19-2009, 01:46 PM

thanks for the interest! [up]

08-19-2009, 03:51 PM
when ever you make another batch you've got one sold. [up]

08-19-2009, 04:17 PM
thnx, man! ;)

Evil Mechanic
08-19-2009, 06:16 PM
Make that 2 [up]

08-19-2009, 07:27 PM
thanks, Aaron :D

08-19-2009, 08:01 PM
how many pre-orders would you need for it to be worth making another batch of the hooligan? or maybe hooligan V2.0?

Evil Mechanic
08-20-2009, 02:58 AM
Good idea Nuage!

08-20-2009, 05:15 AM
I'd be in for a Hooligan one as well.

08-20-2009, 06:16 AM
hooligan V2.0?
I'm in.

08-20-2009, 02:38 PM
hmm, this could work but i'll need to crunch the numbers. i'm assuming around 20 pre-orders.

a V2.0 Hooligan would rock [up]

08-20-2009, 02:42 PM
I've been looking for some images to suggest for the V2.0 thinking maybe a skeletal pegasus? or maybe the skull n bones you used but larger and in a different placement?

Evil Mechanic
08-20-2009, 03:16 PM
not to offend anyone, but im not a fan of the pegasus so please consider other options :)

also less is better. thats what makes the hooligan so nice. its simple and effective. if you were going to change the design then id recomend making it similar in size, but maybe a different image. just my 1 cent (recession) lol

of course im not the only one interested so lets hear some other ideas, including those of the designer :)

08-20-2009, 03:35 PM
evil i gotta agree with you on the pegasus. as long as the mph and rpm's remain the same i'm interested.

08-20-2009, 04:00 PM
i'm listening guys, and i've also contacted my printer again to discuss details. keep the convo rolling, i'll keep you posted from my side.. .

thanks again.

Evil Mechanic
08-20-2009, 04:07 PM
Same here Nuage. Thats the best part!!

Thanks Clinton! Soon as you give us details we will start a new thread for pre-orders.

08-20-2009, 05:08 PM
so what are you guys thinking as far as the icon? a maybe uppdated version of the normal hooligan? maybe some color shading? same style with minor adjustments? [confused][confused][confused] maybe we can give clinton some mock ups?

08-20-2009, 05:17 PM
I'll supply the vector file of the new buell logo in exchange for a face using it.

08-20-2009, 05:47 PM
sorry dave, not interested in copyright infringement. you get a free faceplate and i get a free trip to bankruptcy :D

08-20-2009, 05:50 PM
????? xbdashboards has been using the old pegasus for a while. How is that different? Plus, it's not their logo, I recreated it. It's just a "likeness"

08-20-2009, 05:54 PM
ring up Buell's marketing dept and point them to XBDashboards use and sale of their copyrighted material, see how long that site stays live. :D

i'm a graphic designer, i can recreate anything, but i will not step beyond legal boundaries. it's just bad business.

hope you guys understand.. .

08-20-2009, 06:32 PM
Wow those are harsh words. Yes, I too am a graphic designer, and in my business, pretty much all I do is recreate logos. It's not bad business, it's life and it benefits the company by spreading the logo. Turning down free advertisement, now that's bad business.

If you don't want to use it, that's fine. I just figured I'd save you an hours work if you were looking for it. I know you don't mass produce, so I figured you'd be ok with it. I'm sorry, I was wrong.

08-20-2009, 06:48 PM
s'ok, man. no need to apologize! not sure why you see those as harsh words, especially being a designer as well. i don't own the stuff so i'm not at liberty to use/sell it.

i've actually got a note in to Buell to see if there is any flexibility with my product and their assets but i'm prepared to hear... no dice. on anything. due to have a call tomorrow so I'll post the outcome.

BUT, thanks for the offer to save some time! just had to point out the issues 'cause most don't understand that it's illegal or chose just to ignore the potential for a lawsuit. i can't afford to play like that. too much at stake.

08-20-2009, 07:27 PM
hey Dave any chance you can share that vector file with me?
I dont even know what a vector is really! I just know thats what they use to print decals, or to lay something over a background right?
I have been dying to put those new emblems on my bike, but cant find them sold anywhere. They look really bad ass.
I have a friend who owns a print shop.
If possible you can email me at Jornum1@gmail.com
If not no big deal just thought I would ask.

08-24-2009, 04:41 PM
So i thought of my best input for the hooligan V2.0 in tribute to The Type1 bike. . .how about the skull with a gas mask instead of the cross bones? that'd be fly as ****, still simple but badass? That's the one i wanna see.

08-24-2009, 05:10 PM
dig it. [up]

i think i have some art i was working with last year that's kinda similar, but i'd also like to try redrawing the front of my bike w/skull incorporated. great idea, Nuage!

i've got a ton of other skulls to play with as well, just need to get a few jobs out today/tomorrow. might have time to play around early this week though. at least with some rough ideas.. .

08-24-2009, 07:51 PM
Hey clinton, Do you need the bike back for a fitment test?? :D

08-24-2009, 10:09 PM
sure! drop it off any time :D

08-24-2009, 10:16 PM
Typeone, If I can be any help let me know, it's the least I can do.

Thank you again.

08-24-2009, 11:07 PM
You might have to bribe me with some cash though...;)

Evil Mechanic
09-05-2009, 06:23 PM
Any updates yet Clayton?

09-06-2009, 03:00 AM
Can't wait to see the skull with gas mask ;)

09-10-2009, 07:44 PM

09-10-2009, 07:52 PM
i know [mad] freekin deadlines sidetracked me.. .

09-10-2009, 08:24 PM
No worries, have you thought about the design yet? just curious as to the candidates.

09-10-2009, 09:08 PM
sorta [sad] i need to get back to my printer too, we started a great conversation but i've got too much on the plate to dive in just yet. want to, just need to focus on the paying work first, unfortunately.

will keep you guys posted though, hopefully i can shift focus next week.
