Have any of you heard the D&D pipe on an 1125R. Loudest pipe I've heard yet. I like it so much that I'm going for a test ride real soon. I had my kid with me today so I couldn't swing it.

I found a few video clips but it still doesn't do justice to the live sound.

The sound is MEAN but will lean your engine. My ecm went nuts w/ the d&d pipe but settled down w/ a little help. Best sounding bike I've ever had!

Hey guys. this is my first post. i had an 02 buell x1 white lightning. but was forced to sell it :( but this spring i plan on getting a new bike, and after owning a buell, i wont consider anything else. but im stuck between 3 bikes..the 1125cr being one of them. the only problem is the new rotax engine...im a little iffy. I want to get a buell because its a buell, and the sound is part of what makes it a buell. so my question is , with this d&d exhaust for the new 1125's , would a 1125r or 1125cr sound like a buell? i love the loud low rumble of the big v twins throaty exhaust. but i know the new rotax engines rev a little higher and are a different animal all together. anyway. thanks alot.

You should not get a different sound from either bike. Both engines are the same.

i guess i should have clarified...im wondering if the new rotax 1125 motor sounds anything like the 1203 harley motor when you slap a SORON or D&D or JARDINE or Drummer exhaust system on it....which is closest? and which is loudest and lowest rumble?

Good clarification...[up][up]

anyone? im wanting to know if the new 1125 can sound as good and loud as the 1203 thunderstorms....i like that low rumble, and if they can imitate it...what pipe is best and sounds most like it? thanks

lol no way. I think there are only slip-ons for the 1125. I had them start up the 1125cr its like the little sewing machine that could. I love the sound of my 1203

LeFox

the rotax sounds more like a ducati than an thunderstorm engine.

Buell_Cru
01-22-2009, 01:06 PM
The rotax produces a much louder sound from the D&D pipe but it's a higher pitch. It's not a low deep rumble sound. The D&D on a 12R will give you that low rumble. rCzTbmEWtjA

dang :( as bad as i want the 1125cr, i might have to stick with the 1203. i love the sound and feel of those bikes, but i wish they had the top end of the new 1125 :(

Hey Rabbit.. whats up doc? just playing, I spoke to Dave one of the owners of D+D on the 1125r , and xb12r he is in tight with Buell the vid is D+D shop testing baffles for production pipes. they were the first to get a 1125 to make exhaust( which is not street legal at all) for racing. also the 1125r and cr are the same bike the only difference is the cr is gear like the 12r. which if you see ratios for 12r and1125r they are close in all gears except 4, and 5. last gear is real close so your not going to go over 170 top speed(stock).

P-Rabbit...
Have you made the decision on the 1125CR or XB12 yet? If you are still on the fence, watch the you tube of the Drummer for the 1125, you may get the best of both worlds... otherwise, I have a D&D in stainless for sale for the 1125... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZl5yX3_0yg

We saw a decrease in power on the dyno with the drummer. I had a D&D race on my 08 1125r and the power was sweet but it is really loud.

Tank, did you have the D&D on the bike with the stock ECM? and if so did you have any problems with the bike?

[smirk]P.S. this for anybody with xb this gets a d and d exhaust, be sure to put lock tight on the bolts on your chin fairing. It rubbles so hard I've lost all bolts, and even broke a bracket on the exhaust. SOUND AWESOME, I don't care I lost bolts, easy fix well worth it.[up][up]

Sorry guys, I have been looking at other threads and have not been back to this one in a while. I am outside of Savannah, GA. I modified the stock baffel in the D&D with the guts out of a Super Trapp pipe, so you can tune the sound... I have 15 wafers in it now and believe it is the best sound I can get out of it. Very loud still, but I haven't had any trouble w/ police...Make an offer and if I like the # we can work out the details from there.

Has anyone had trouble with the police while the D&D was on their bike?

I guess it really depends on what YOU want. Do you want the cool deep sound or is performance your main objective? Check the throttle response in those vids between the 1203 and the 1125.
I had an 01 X1 Lightning( had a few different exhausts on it)and that thing sounded wicked, pissed off, thumpy and badass.
I just sold that and got a 1125CR. The 1125 does not sound anything like the 1203...and never will.I have the stock exhaust and I'm doing some research now because I dont like the stock exhaust at all(looks, weight, and where it discharges),but sound is not my only reason. I do have to say its pretty f'n quiet til bout 7000rpm-then she howls like a werewolf.
just my 2 cents.
