Hey Guys. I bought a 2006 Ulysses with 31k on the clocks. The drive belt looked like it had some wear so I bought a new one. I installed the new belt last night and the new belt seems to be way too tight. I don't see any way to adjust the tension so I put it back together and rode it today. Driveability seems ok but I dont want to wear out or worse break the belt I just paid $160 for. Just curious if anyone else has ran into this. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would advise you to change wheel bearings when changing the drive belt, the added tension tends to cause them to fail rather quickly

Thanks for the info Guys. Isn't there some kind of conversion to run better bearings in the rear?

2010 model 3 bearing wheel is the only "Fix" I know of

Use AllBalls bearings and ride. Check them at every tire change. Keep a spare set on hand in case they need replacing. Same goes for idler pulley bearings.

I found a belt supplier in the U.K that will supply belts for xb12 for £40. Ericks Belts Taunton 01823271221.
Living in the west of Ireland real Buell belts are nearly €250 including delivery so i think i'll give them a try. I think the reference is slab-14mxp-1890-fen, cut to 28.5mm. its a fenner plus 3 belt. Wish me luck...
