is it possible to stick a sporter engine on the buel or is there differences besides a few covers?
are the trannies and other parts interchangable?

Not sure but I think they have different mounting points. The Sportster engine also has the oil pump sticking out the front unlike the Buell.

i went to 2 shops today they told me up to 04 used the same motor, 05 started a new series of motors that are close but not the same. lots of little changes to a bunch of small parts for reliability.

know it or not buell better than sporty, sporty wanna be like buell lump when sporty grow up. Really why would you go backwards,The Buell motor is the pinnacle of the sportster engine. Now if wecould get that v-rod motor in our frame then we could start messing with the ducatis around the tracks of oh I don't know anywhere.

well you find me a frame cheap and i'll find a v-rod motor and stuff it in there. i was thinking of trying to find a jap liter engine to toss in a firebolt frame if i can find another frame.

They are not the same motor. The heads are different along with some other parts.
