sorry everyone this has probably been brought up before

I am new to this forum and tried to search for this topic and couldn't find it... probably my lack of computer knowledge. so if someone just just puts a link to another posting thats cool too.

anyways I am getting an 01 blast from my aunt. I am kind of a speed demon and I was looking at the 600 cc kits but what i am trying to figure out is if i need to get a bigger carb or just re-jet it. i am not finding a lot of info on them and was hoping that this might be a good place to start.

any help is much appreciated
Thanks Brad

you could probably get the stock carb to work but you should get better throttle response with a mikuni.

if you are really a speed demon the blast will be a disappointment. i dont think i would bother with dumping too much into it.

Honestly I've seen some pretty crazy blast guys that get massive performance out of those bikes.

i have heard it will be a disappointment but i am getting this for so cheap that i dont mind putting some money into it without it breaking the bank. it is mostly just something for me to do with my free time. I have also heard that there can be some massive gains in power too. i am still just toying with the idea and not sure if i want it for amazing fuel economy or just to play around with.

Performance comparable to what? I dont see a blast without massive amounts of money and time ever putting 100hp to the wheel... Most jap 600cc put that down stock. The blast is a great beginner bike, easy to work on, and would make an awesome project bike, but if youre a true Speed demon then even the XB12 will leave you wanting more. I

I plan to jack halfagiraffes Blast when she upgrades as a cool commuter and have some fun modding.

3.5" bore, but in a 600cc kit, it's like 3.8125", iirc.
