what L brackets need to be welded?

I could definitely make that work! But I would actually need the pipe to make the mount.

Obviously, I will give it to you, and you will fabricate the "L" brackets. I'm just looking for good, honest, and willing to share the acknowledge fabricator. You must share all the steps and videos in the forum. Those are the only rules (See all above).

So wait, you want someone to turn that stock one into a shortie? and do a how to? Is this correct?

I'll do it if so

Information overload. I'm so confused...

Still confused, are you referring to the chin fairing tabs as "L brackets"? Not that I really care, I have zero fabrication skill

Still confused
+1

Come on Route0766 you are making no sense. Can you at least answer peoples questions [confused][confused][confused][confused][confused][confused][confused][confused][confused][confused][confused]

The idea is to eliminate the rear exhaust bracket and clamps, fabricate and weld "L" brackets to the exhaust, and just used the stock screws.
I guess this make more sense??

Its doable. If you come down I can weld it next week at work. I can use 16 gauge and mach up something. I won't do any of the other stuff you want though. Message me or you can come down here and meet me at the flat track race Saturday.

Can't do it like that, where would the oil lines go? Would have to be separate tabs.

That said, it would be possible to make a bracket to still use band clamps like the original, but they would have to be a bit shorter, probably 2" or so.

Lots of help here. Dean is the man. [up]

I can cut two pieces and weld them together and still use clamps but with a hole for the oil lines. It would be ghetto imo.

Come on guys.........I hate to be the "that guy" or the only one some building/designing sense........

This pipe and idea is a big waste of time.... I had mention this before.... The "L" bracket is the easy part, but why hasn't anybody picked up on the big picture....

Where does the kickstand go......

Give the pipe to randy and let him make it into a stubby hawk and use it for a "buellxb give-a-way"

The kickstand goes where it always does, wether there is an exhaust or not

Ok...let me paint a picture for you guys, because i don't want to upload pictures. The kickstand runs parallel with the muffler on the left side.
Your kick stand will hit the outlet tip on the short muffler, i.e not going all the way up. causing less ground clearance on the left side.

That is why the "Ss" and ully have a different muffler outlet, to compensate for there higher ride height, because the bike needs a longer kickstand.

Yup, squidbuellie hit it right on the spot. The kick stand isnt dependent on the shock but the muffler tip was designed to avoid the kick stand hitting it..... now it will.

This seems to be a mod where someone has done it just to do it. No performance claims. And its clear the mounting idea hasnt been thought out.

Confusing - but what I gather is the man feels like he has a basic design idea and he wants beta testers who have access to dyno time to give him strong feedback from the field to develope it.

Not defending or endorsing what he is doing nor am I dissing him - because I love my D&D system, I'm Switzerland.

YOU GOT IT vtech007 !
I will give it a way to play with it and share the results!

I love my D&D too but I'm really curious to see how the "Little Monster" performs, but I'm not a fabricator!!

squidbuellie is right, and unless someone can use this pipe on thier track bike, I don't see anyone actually going through with all your rules Route.. sorry, but I think the kickstand problem's a none starter for this project.

you can mail it to me at your expense. i will adjust the tip. i will give you a butt dyno along with a video with the gopro of my butt. i will do it with a drummer exhaust and then the little monster.

but on a serious note you can send it. i dont want to pay shipping. i can do the brackets and the tip fabrication. i can do a video and then you can pay to have it shipped back to you. i dont need the pipe, but i need something to do on breaks at work. no dyno. sorry bud

let m know
