You should never go faster than angels can fly. ( JMO )

As far as faster they do make a big bore kit for the XB motors. And there are a few out there that are turbo and super charged. I will say though with the amount of torque they already have any turbo/super charger seems a bit much. These bikes are never going to be mind blowing fast. But they are quick, fun, and completely different than anything on the road.

If you feel you need the fastest bike Buell is probably not the bike for you.

^ ouch.

At least he keep it in the Buell Family.

Any high end brake lever will obviously work in the opposite effect, I vote you remove all the brakes so as to lighten her up.

Let me ask you, do you wanna go fast in a straight line?

And be honest with yourself, and us, can you even push your bike to its limits around a track?

I'd add some sweet stickers, and get a straight pipe, it'll make it look and sound fast!!! hahaha:D:D

General rule of thumb... Each sticker is an extra 2hp to the wheel... :)

You don't mention if you have a XB9 or a XB12 and what model year.

There are a few ways to go faster (i.e. higher top speed). Some without necessarily modifying the engine.

One cost effective way to go faster if you have the XB9 is the 11% primary gearing increase kit (http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/A17151.html) from ASB.com.

Another for 02-03 XB9 only, higher in cost, is the Extra Speed Kit (http://www.freespirits.it/en/component/virtuemart/b/transmission-buell/buell-xb9r-s-extra-speed-kit-for-2002-2003-models-only683det.html?Itemid=0) from Free Spirits.it.

For other model/years, you could install the drive chain conversion (which I don't recommend) and play with sprocket sizes (larger front sprocket or smaller rear sprocket for higher top speed).

want to go faster!
buy an inline litre bike

buy an 1125
yes if you like austria and working on it more than riding

Lesley, between the two 1125's I've owned I've enjoyed about 20,000 miles of nothing but proper and routine maintenance. So, if you put it that way, i do like Austria. Particularly more than i care for a sportster derived motor.

I liked my xb but I'd rather punch myself in the dick than give up my 1125 for one.

Carry on.

An Xb is really not that quick accelerating out of corners through the top end like a lot of other bikes. I have a great time on it but having a stronger top end for acceleration would be pretty nice. I think thats what a lot of people mean when they say they want a faster bike. Jumping on an 1125cr from my xb12 i felt like my arms were getting ripped off. Its a substantial difference in acceleration.

Just my $0.02 (as usual) ... You can make the XB's a little faster with a lot of money, but these bikes will never be front-line runners... Having a liter bike, a supersport, and a v-twin myself I can tell you this much from experience ...
they are not speed oriented bikes ... no matter how you slice it ...

You can spend thousands of dollars on parts for your XB and put every performance part that's made for it on it (pretty much like I tried to do with my 919) ... But a completely stock liter class sports bike will decimate it as far as outright speed goes .... Using my 919 as a different example of the same problem, no matter what I did with my 919 I would never be in front of my riding buddies for long on more stretched out roads where they could let their bikes stretch their legs and roll out (if i wanted to ride out in front I would jump on my 954) ... On tighter roads I could more or less keep them in sight, and have more fun than them doing it because my 919 was more fun to ride than my 954 ... but my 919 simply wasn't set up to keep up with a pure racebike (I mean c'mon ... soft and spongy suspension, a flexi-frame, and a "detuned" motor.. really? No chance.) ... seems to be the same as my XB ... It CAN keep up with other bikes if you outRIDE them ... but the bike itself will not outperform them ... it is what it is, and it is NOT a fast bike ...

I had a zx14 prior to my XB. 200 freakin' hp! ...and yet somehow my Buell provides more smiles and satisfaction. Sometimes speed is over rated. But good luck in your pursuit of higher speeds.

Everybody knows you can get a faster bike than the Firebolt - the brother is asking, here on the Race Kits section of our forum, how to make his Firebolt go faster, through modification. Everyone is privileged to answer how they please, but answering by talking about other bikes is missing the direction.

I love my xb9r I would not want another liter bike. I also have a stage 1kit I do understand where you are comming from I have ck on it for myself and unless you have thousands to spend then your not gonna get much more out of it. I put a do beck tfi on mine and it helped some. I know that's not recommended with the race kit but I haven't had any problems it was around 200 good luck
