A reflective Reflector Housing is something our bikes do not come with, so here is a quick fix.

What you will need

The spray in bed liner is optional, but I would recommend using it to give the reflector surface some texture so the the light is distributed in all directions.

step 1. Remove brake light housing and mask off with tape to avoid over spray.

Step 2. Spray the inside of the housing lightly with the spray in bed liner and let dry.

Step 3. Spray the inside of the housing with the Chrome paint and let dry.

Step 4. Put everything back together and go ride

Total cost is about $13.

This is a good idea. Im curious as to whether or not it will hold up in time with the heat from the bulb.

I thought about that to, but even if it deteriorates over time it would be easy to fix or you could leave it and basically end up with a stock housing. Like you said time will ultimately tell, and I will post my finding further down the road.[up]

Sounds good! I wish you had before and after pictures. Either way, it looks like an improvement in brightness over the stock

Well I just bought an Ecliptech led insert so this will no longer be necessary, But for those interested the paint and bed liner have held up well to the heat from the bulb and look the same as the day I did the mod.
