Nice Firebolt. That black Buell XB12S is the look I'm going for. I just need to save up enough to get that black plastic you quoted me on. How many miles do you have on your Buell firebolt? What mechanical problems if any have you had to deal with? So far my RPM's tend to vary when I try to keep the throttle steady in first or second gear under 2500 RPMs, and my engine/exhaust?? makes a funny gurgling/popping sound when idling and under very light revving. I still haven't been able to make it to a shop with the newer buell chip for the comp. I run 89 octane gas, just changed the oil to full harley syn, and changed the plugs. I just hit 900 miles. [confused]

Never had any problems other than blown fork seals and a broken belt. I just rolled 10,900 coming back from work today. As far as the varying idle, they zero the TPS at your 1000 miles service, should help with that. The noise, I am not sure I would have to see it in person to know for sure what up. I would also recommend running only 91 in that thing. Thats what they are designed for is the higher octane.

Wow, that's the Honda CBR 600 F4 I used to have. I had the yellow and black from 2000 with Vance pipes. That was a really fun, smooth bike. I know I need to reset the TPS. It's really cold here in Indiana now and the Buell dealer is 2 hours away. I wish the Harley dealer five minutes from my house would service my Buell.

Their Digital Tech doesn't have Buell capabilities huh? I thought all the Digital Tech's automatically came with that software installed. Double check with them. Ask them if they can't do it because they don't have the software, or if it's just because they just don't want to work on a Buell. Resetting a TPS is easy as hell and only takes like 10 mins, which is funny because they charge you guys an hour at shop rate to do it. I reset mine the other day, I was literally in and out of the shop in like 20mins from the time I pulled it in to the time I parked it back in my parking space.

One other thing I had to do to mine to get it to stop from hunting for idle was re-flash the ECM. I have a race kit so it may not pertain to your set up but I have heard it remedies some factory symptoms also. Tried it on mine on Sunday and it seems to be a little more off idle responsive. Not quite as crabby when it is warm also.

notice your riding with a honda i think... what size is the honda.. and in the taller gears can you roll it on and pull the honda for a while

That is a 1999 Honda CBR 600 F4 carb bike. He beats me from a dead stop after 70 and yeah if we roll on in higher gears the torque pulls on him for a little while...

just noticed your firebolt is a 900..so the comparison with the hONDA cbr 600 f4.was against your 900 ?...if thats true...what would be the difference if you where on a 1200

Yup. Well ith my race kit, I can beat stock XB12's til about 100mph then they pass me. But when the XB12's have race kits, I can barely hang with them til about 50mph then they take off.

I see you ride my favorite road - 89A south of Flagstaff. Used to ride my Honda CBR 1000 Hurricane there when we lived in Arizona in the late 80's. Great stretch of road to give a sport bike ahealthy workout.
