Alright , here goes. I just bought my third Buell and I want to do this one right. It's an 03 XB9S with 2500 miles on it .I plan to get the D&D exhaust , K&N , and a race ECM.Im new to this forum but after reading it for a while , I wish I would have found it years ago. What I'm needing to know is , after installing these items , what am I going to need to do?A TPS reset sounds like one thing , but what after that?I also spotted a nice CF airbox cover at one of these aftermarket Buell parts places with a ram air type setup. How can I get more air into this bike?Whats the best place to use for the necessary parts?Any help you guyss can offer would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a good idea would be to install your exhaust and K&N and your CF airbox cover, and do a breather re route. Then send the stock ECM to Americansportbike.com, tell them what mods you have done, and they will unlock your ECM and map it according to what mods you have done. It will cost $100 to map it and $100 to unlock it, and you don't even need a race ECM.

The other option is using ECM spy, but that you have to do yourself.

Welcome to the Buell family and our awesome forum!

1) http://users.telenet.be/mdr/fun/smiley/welcome.gif

2) better late than never ;)

3) here's what you do:
- get the airbox delete with a k&n filter
- exhaust of your choice
- get a remap (asb (http://www.americansportbike.com/), xopti (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Buell-Lightning-XB12S-XB12Ss-CityX-XB12Scg/Xopti-ECM-tune), ecmspy (http://www.ecmspy.com/))
- put the airbox-cover you want
- install the ecm
- learn-in ecm (ride for about 15 minutes at a steady speed @ 3000rpm with no hard accelerations)
- have fun....

3) where to buy the stuff you need is up to you...you can order in 1 spot and save on shipping or choose best part price but with additional shipping. do what is best for your wallet ;)

I appreciate the warm welcome from you guys.I keep hearing everyone talk about a breather re-route?Airbow delete? Whats that all about ?I just saw this airbox cover at ASB that had the holes in it , of course the hold down for the air cleaner has to be purchased with it. What do ya think.?Thanks again guys , its good to have some people who have done this stuff before.

I see what you mean. "Breather Mod-2" link, was showing step-by-step pics to go along with the instructions when I posted it, but it's not now. [confused] Bummer. Just post up if you need help on anything.

It was working earlier today. Seems to be something wrong with the site hosting the pics. I'll check into it and hopefully have the pics back up soon.

Just finished the breather mod.The pictures helped alot thanks Stevenc150.I appreciate it.It never really ran like crap afterwards , but the hiccuos through the intake stopped. It used to do it at the red light when I kinda blip the throttle a little ya know .Thanks again guys for your help.Looks like an airbox delete and air filter are next......and a D&D pipe.........and a ecm re-map.You know the game it never stops.

No problem Shooter. (Actually Urban did all the work, I just linked it for ya.) I'm like lightning bro, a BRIGHT flash from time to time, but mostly darkness. ;)
