Just checkin out the forum. Seems like a lot of good info out there. Recently picked up my first Buell. It's a 2005 XB12R Firebolt. AWESOME!! Have had a few Harleys but none of them were ever this much fun. It has a Jardine pipe and header(that has been ported and tuned). It also has a chip and has been mapped. Like I said, super fun. However, as I am new to Buells, It runs very hot. I know part of it is due to the way it is set up, but is it normal for it to scorch my inner thy when I'm sitting still? And will it be alright to ride long distances with this set up?

Get a right side scoop and it'll help a lot.

As long as you're moving the heat isn't bad, if you're sitting still they become ridiculous.

I personally think the jardine sucks. More than likely you have a stock header wth jardine exhaust, a tuned stock ecm or a race ecm (tuned or regular).

Out of curiosity how many miles and how much did you pay?

Welcome to the world of Buells. If you haven't had heat rash on your inner thigh you've never truly ridden on of these bikes. I will second that the right side scoop will most definitely help. Even in Las Vegas, where we hit 110+, its made a huge difference in the cooling and amount of time the fan runs after riding.
