Ok, so the first step is to back off the throttle stop screw until it's no longer touching the stop on the butterfly shaft... So before I go digging for this throttle stop screw, can someone give me a heads up of how hard it is to get to, and possibly some tips for doing this reset? Thanks in advance for the help

What bike? XB9/12R/S has the adjuster on the left front side in front of the air intake. Turn it CCW as you are facing it. Snap the throttle shut until it "binds" when you try to turn it open. At this point, the throttle blade is completely closed. Using your software / scan tool, reset the TPS and adjust your idle to 5.3 - 5.7 and a speed of 1000-ish rpm.

Stupid question.. but is there a trick to getting the lower air box mount off ? and the rubber down tube which funnels air into the throttle body ??

On mine, the throttle stop is near the air intake on the left side. It has a thumb screw or you can use a 3/16" hex key, I think. You shouldn't have to disassemble anything to adjust the idle, (Although I took the top plate off to see how everything was connected when I first got mine).

I need the details! Got the manual but haven't checked it out yet. I'm going to do my own service from now on because of the 1k service problem I had at the dealer. Thanks in advance. Steve
