Went to adjust mine a little and SNAP, one of the heim's threaded ends broke. Guess it was corroded.

Shipping would be to Memphis TN, 38011. Time is of the essence though cause I can get one from BuellParts or local HD in a week or so for $40-ish. Let me know if anyone has one from a part out or whatever that they'd be willing to sell and ship. Thanks.

Heck yeah Fish. Thanks for the tip. My search didn't include that section in which you have your custom ones posted up or else I might've run across it.

That being said, I thought I saw that the HD/Buell part numbers were different between the Firebolts, Lightnings and Ulysses. Does yours for sure fit the XB12R since your post only mentions the S, X, Scg, etc.? Doubt you would've mentioned it if not, but just making sure.

Yeah, firebolts and lightning are the same. Uly is longer. Mine will fit firebolt and lightning.

Just as a tip for anyone in the future that has their shifter linkage break and needs to get home:
It ain't too pretty, and certainly only for emergency use, but it's cheap and easy and can probably be found at most hardware or home improvement stores (Mine came from Lowe's for $5).

At the very minimum you will also need one washer for the upper bolt head to prevent it from pulling through the upper eye. And ideally, you'll need to grab 3 or 4 more small washers to take up the air space between the forks of the shifter and the lower eye; otherwise you'll have to be very careful not to tighten that bolt very much or risk snapping the cast aluminum. I was lucky and this happened to me at home so I was able to take it yet another step further and pinch the eyes down so there was very little slop in the whole setup. Lastly, this turnbuckle has no jamnuts and spins quite easily so, unless you have some tape handy or a little dab of glue or something, it will likely adjust a good bit from the all the vibrations so keep an eye on it. The threads on the eyes are VERY long though so not likely going to be able to fall apart.

Hope this helps someone else in the future. Please don't razz me too hard for my ghetto-fabulous emergency repair; its cheap and will get you home. fishxb12 has one of his custom ones on the way. Besides, going from 40mpg on the bike to 16 in my truck has been painful!

Fish, I don't know if you took a pic or not, but I'll try to get one put up here when I get a chance to. Thanks for the quick turn around and the customization. I love how it turned out.

And I moved the two links from above with the pictures of the emergency repair parts I used so, in case they don't work anymore, here they are:

I just seen this picture of the linkage installed. Looks beefy, being bigger in diameter. Looks good!
