I'm thinking of getting an after market exhaust and was wondering if you folk who have them could advise if they make a difference to performance and also how do they sound. I've only seen one other Uly in Scotland so far and it had no mods. Any advice would be welcomed.

read the write up on www.americansportbike.com

This is the most comprehensive exhaust shootout your gonna find. You have to click the link and download it but there is more information there then anywhere else.

I'm running a Micron Serpent on my Uly and I love it. Pics are here. http://www.buellxb.com/article24.htm

I just installed the Jardine carbon fiber. Looks great. Sounds like a BIG Harley. Lots of popping when decelerating

We put a Drummer on Beth's XB12Scg 2 weeks ago. The standard one, NOT the econo. The sound is great, but she doesn't feel like there's an increase in power. We haven't had her TPS sensor reset yet though, so who knows.

We didn't want anything too loud. She also didn;t want anything she'd have to repack. She'd had a Vance & Hines on her Blast and it was annoyingly loud. The Drummer sounds more like a European twin than a Harley, I think it's perfect.

As far as which Drummer, Kevin says he may stop making the econo model... it makes less power down low and is "just for peopel who want something loud." We also considered the SpecialOPS muffler, but his dyno sheets also seemed to lack low end power, and he wasn't real good about returning emails.

By the way, Kevin's work is absolutely beautiful, and was easy to install.

Cheers guys, that has been a great help. It's a real benefit being able to come onto a forum like this and chat with actual owners rather than read the magazines, which very rarely discuss the Buells at all, let alone the Uly.

I reckon we all own a very under rated bike :)

onemanclan, popping exhaust on decel can indicate an exhaust leak.

I'm pretty sure he isn't going to respond, he has 1 post! This thread is four years old.

google hawk performance. you'll find all info for randy hawkins in georgia. $200 modified exhaust for all XB's, super quick turn around, he pays return freight, you get your modded stock muffler back so that the stock cowling bolts right back on. noticeable performance increase and great sound. IMO the most bang for the buck.

Drummer SS is the way to go. a bit pricey but worth every penny. Not to mention it looks sweet.

Well as Mr Pinapples only had 14 post back in 2007 Im fairly certian he does not care what our personal choices are at this point in the game. Glad to see some people are ok talking to a wall...................

the truckers say that in the world of diesel powered pickup trucks, you only need to know three words....and those words are Cummins Turbo Diesel. in the world of Buell XB exhaust, you only need to know three words as well....Google Randy Hawkins. IMHO
