Wrapped my headers... its smoking bad

i used the DEI brand exhaust wrap from autozone...looked great when i was done. i did not use the coating just left it bare. took it out for a quick warmup ride and smelled somethin funny,pulled over and the wrap was bellowing smoke, and very burnt looking...any ideas what the heck is goin on here???any help would be greatly appreciated!thanks ahead for any of your time

That's perfectly normal it will stop after a while. There is no way your pipes get hot enough to truly burn the wrap.
