Hi guys,

I've now got my lead and ECMSpy installed on my laptop, installed the driver for XP and connected to the ECM but had an error come up.

There seems to be no communication with the software and the ECM.

On the 'gauges' screen, the message at the bottom of the screen says "Got Com Port" "Receive Error: Got NAK" Com4 Open.

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong.

Thanks

tmfc: do you have the correct COM port selected?

When you plug in the cable, a COM port doesn't pop up? Have you installed the drivers?

I installed the driver that i got on a cd when i bought the cable. Think it is version 2.6.0.0 .
When i plug the cable the only thing a popup say is that the cable is ready for use

When in ecmspy open up the connections tab and tell it to autodetect. If that doesn't work then I would suggest reinstalling ecmspy and the driver.

Have tried to "autodetect" and it doesn,t work. Will try your tip to reinstall everytning tomorrow, now it,s time to go home and have a nice dinner instead.

I like to cut, weld, mill and so on but when it comes to pc problems I just wants to sleep ;)

Thank you guys for trying to help me out, I,ll post up later on how things going..................maybe a nice new-york steak and a glass red.
