Hi there, I am a united states soldier in ACTIVE Army I am currently deployed in Afghanistan with 3-71-Cav from Fort Drum, NY. I am looking for a 2008-2009 Buell XB12R. I am not trying to break the bank especially with me helping my ma with med bills, I'm not going to lie I just wanna have fun when I get back to the states and ride with my brother! He is a Harley mechanic so I cant wait! Can anyone direct me to a bike at a great price... thank you, thank you, thank you.

Best, Mike McKenzie

First off thank you for you service! Second, do you have a max price range in mind. This will give any guys local to you and anyone else offering help an idea of what to look for. Thanks and stay safe.

No need to thank just doing a job, than you though. well most of the bikes I see are 5000+ but I have seen a few for $4000 and lower so that is what I am hoping for, I don't mean to be cheap just pay is not the best as a PFC and with other worries... but I am going to be home June 9th ,so excited! I will be traveling home to Rockford IL, near Chicago on July 15th and will be able to get the bike anywhere I can hopefully around July 15th so I can get some riding time with my bro!

Most 08+ 12r are more than $5000 regardless. I have one in MD that could be shipped to Long Island NY, provided it's paid for. I have a buddy there who deals with Buells & I trust him with my bikes if I have to... Price negotiable but it should sell at $45-5 fairly easy...
It's an 05/09 swap with 9600 miles on motor. 13k on frame. Just did the swap so it's legit. NO issues. http://annapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/4428781550.html

Lotsa new guys on here; that's great!

Welcome! Whether you're new to riding, or just new to Buell, I'd strongly encourage you to budget for some rider training (beginner or advanced), & some good riding gear, if you haven't done so already.

Have a great season!

There's a number for sale in and around Rockford right now. I'm always looking : )
One 04 that's been up for trade only for awhile you could probably get on the cheap and a low mile 09 that just hit for sale a couple weeks ago.

These are the two I was referencing.....just did a quick search and didn't see much else for 12 firebolts, but riding season is just getting going so maybe more will come up.

I can already tell youre one of those people who love to tell EVERYONE youre in the army and will even wear your uniform out when there is no reason too at all, am I right? What relevance does you being in the military have to do with you getting a bike? Are you wanting someone to give you a bike just because you are in the service? There are plenty of soldiers on this site, including me, but you dont see us all gloating and bloating around about it to everyone. Pet peeve of mine, welcome in any case and stay safe over there.

as you can tell, there are quite a few Vets on this forum. Some of us are 'Old Salts', one of the reasons I like it so much. Anyway, Welcome to the forum and the Buell community, stay safe.
