I am looking at changing out my continental attacks for TK 80 Continental front and perhaps a Heidenau rear...as you know if I go with a 150/70/17 I may have some problems ...any ideas?

I have a 170/60/17 Karoo 3 on back.

Awesome tyre - for me any ways... :)

I just mounted TKC80's on my Uly wheels. They're amazing in the dirt and mud, but feel like a tank tread on asphalt. I run Scorpion Trails on my "street" set of wheels.

i have no road issues with my TKC80 on the back. Maybe they didnt balance your wheel correctly? Mine is as smooth as my old slick.

They're balanced, I checked them myself after I got them back. It's just the tread I feel.

I put about 250 miles on them yesterday - about 70 of that on fire roads and in the mud. (I love living in Charlotte, NC - it's a little over an hour to get to the mountains!) I really like these tires in the dirt. Sure, I still know it's a 500lb monster when she breaks loose in a corner... but the power slides are so much fun, and powering out of a buddy corner with that 180 rear slinging dirt... gotta love it.

Do you guys feel confident leaning & braking with those '80's?

They're a little rougher on the road, but not bad. After most of a day spent in the dirt, they don't seem bad on the road at all. The braking isn't as bad as everyone told me it would be... but I try to be as smooth on the brakes as I can.

It's just two totally different riding styles - foot out and wheel spinning for dirt, and back to sportbike riding technique when on the asphalt. It takes me a few miles when transition between the two to get comfortable again.
