I read that the 08 Uly has a different triple clamp system that decreased the turning circle so the bike is batter in low speed tight riding. This is something that botheres me on my 07 model. I dont even attempt cone riding. According to "bad weather bikes"Buell website you can transplant the 08 triple clamps and ignition onto a 07 model to get this advantage. But after looking at photos i cannot tell any difference between the 07 and 08 triple clamp. the angle increases from 50-odd to 70-odd degrees lock to lock which is quite a radical difference and surely the design changes must be quite obvious and easily visible?

I beg to disagree there is a 5/8" of a inch fwd. offset between the 07 & 08 triple trees see postings below
where the turning radius mods were preformed. Also it is highly recommended to install the 08 forks because they have a 5/8" of rearward offset on the axle to bring the trail geometry back into proper spec.

08+ Ulysses has different lower triple & 47mm forks w , you guessed it, a larger steering radius.

This is true info, I have done the swap multiple times. I recommend that over worrying about what year engine you have.

It's only the X model, you can XT it via 1125 forks but the geometry is slightly off
