Rear brake caliper leak

Noticed some fluids on swing arm and thought that was too far away from dipstick to be oil.

Any ideas/tips on what/where to start looking or what might be leaking? [confused]

Is it brake fluid? Brake fluid has a noticable smell. Take a wiff. Then I would clean it up real well and totally dry the area. Then keep pumping the brake looking for the wet spot.

It looks from your pic that the most forward fluid residue is around the brake line banjo fitting it might be coming from that. Then blowing back on the caliper from the wind.

pull the rubber boot off the bleeder and see if there is any fluid there and make sure it is tight (closed).

Checked bleeder and toight like a toiger! :D

Fluid level still fine. [confused]

Anyway, cleaned it up - going out to a client soon, so will check what it did once back from the run

about 100km round trip, used back loads to see what happens.

No loss of (crappy) performance, no leaks...[confused]
I'll keep an eye on it.

Where is your breather hose routed to?

^ good call. Not sure where the trans vent is on your bike, but on my R is was sticking out between the fan and frame. Same side as your leak.

Good luck with it. Were you able to identify what fluid it actually was??
