ok i have 2008 firebolt. but the sticker with the VIN # says its a 2007. what is it? my question is can i buy a race ecm for it? not the $1200 dollar one that is only for sale to racers.

Well that just means it was made in 07, but some of the early 08 ECMs were mappable. You have a good question. Why don't you give it a try? If is runs like crap, sell the ECM.

all ecm's can be mapped with the right software...

'09 ecms will just cost you double to get mapped cause they need special treatment.

i just dont want to buy the ecm and then have it tuned at H/D. that will end up costing a grip of money for a upgrade that may not work.[confused] is there no real way to find out if i can upgrade exept by trial and error?
