Hey all, well I managed to pick up a pretty good condition '06 XB12R since I last posted here looking for a Lightning.

Unfortunately, after a week of ownership I've already had it down in the yard. (should've kept my eyes peeled for those sneaky holes)

In doing so, the shifter linkage and left side turn signal broke, and my mirror is left with a nice little bend in it.

Afterwards, I noticed these lying on the ground where I dropped it - I was wondering if anybody could help identify them before I take it to a shop?

The small thing looks like a motorcycle battery terminal nut or spacer. Change your battery recently?
I have no idea what the half moon thing is. Does it happen to be magnetic?

Can't really tell how big they are if a pencil was in the pic it would help but that half moon piece is not from your bike I think .I have a 12r and don't recall seeing that anywhere. The other piece like Cooter said looks like battery nut.

what cooter and rick said. someone during the life of your bike swapped out batteries and dropped a terminal bolt attachment nut down in the battery tray area. you dropped the bike in your yard and the little bugger broke free. big gizmo looks like some sort of mower/tractor part.

No, it doesn't seem to be magnetic. Quarter provided for scale reference.

Yeah, it's possible this didn't come from the bike at all. It just so happened to be right where I laid it down, so I wanted to see if anybody recognized it.

Looks like a broken washer probably not from your bike.

The usual suspects totally nailed it! I totally agree with the above posts.
Hey welcome to the Buell good times!
Why are you taking your bike to a shop?
You should be able to reposition your mirror with a little brute force.
It should be VERY easy for you to replace the parts you mentioned yourself. AND it won't take you half as long as it will take a shop.
Do some research. Check out Buellmods.com for manual and there are a ton of options for parts. I believe there is a link at the top of this page that says "parts"
Anyway, good luck with whatever you try to do and PLEASE be careful!

And if it's a stock XB signal you need. I have a few laying around. I'll send you one, free of charge, just PM me your address.
Also a bunch of guys on here sell parts second hand. They'll probably chime in soon to let you know what they have and how you can get it.

Yeah, I was going to replace those parts myself. I think the clutch might need an adjustment, though. Thought it might be best to leave that to a professional, given my inexperience.

Thanks for the help, guys :)

Got her running again; all that's left is to connect the wiring for the turn signal :)

Well, the good news is I identified that washer looking piece.

The previous owner broke the shock somehow; it's the piece on the bottom part of the shock.

I'm basically running without rear suspension right now. The rear fender started getting rubbed away before I realized what was wrong, unfortunately.

Ordered another shock, and I hope to have it on soon.

wow, that was a hard learned lesson, but you will never forget it. :D

Got the new shock, but the weather ruined my plans to get it swapped out.

Can take pics tomorrow if anybody's interested in seeing what it looks like when your suspension breaks.

The half moon piece looks like the rear shock base plate

Here's the state (or lack thereof) of my suspension and the broken shock after being removed. (forgive my poor photo skills)

Last image is just the rubber bit from inside; it split in half just like the plate below it.

All better now; took it for a spin and rides like a dream. :D
Especially in those corners and over railroad tracks.
