i was thinking about getting the xb9 primary gear for my 04 xb12 , can you use the same chain or would i need to buy the xb9 chain. if so can i get a price on the xb9 chain

You do have to change both the chain and the front sprocket.

XB9 Primary Chain - 40005-57B - $66.95

XB9 Front Primary Sprocket - 40241-02A - $110.95
