I always liked GatorBuell's outer airbox mod, so I decided to give it a shot.

What do you think?

Nice mod, not really my cup o' tea with the cut out of the "BUELL" emblem since I removed all of my decals from my bike, "BUT" this is an exception [up]

Dremel cut. It was nervous as hell when doing it though.

Well I finished with a file, razor and sandpaper, but thanks.
I also panted the inner lip black to clean it up a bit.

That looks good dude, and im happy to inspire. Much cleaner than mine was before a little bondo. And yes it was a pain in the arse to do. :D

Tell me about it. It took me at least eight hours to do from start to finish.

Dang!! Looks sharp!

I don't think I have the steady hand to be chopping up my plastics. I'd try to cut out "Buell" and it'd come out more like "DUGLL"

Looks pretty sharp Nitto! Awesome job.

I just picked up a 3' x 4' chunk of the metal to match the stock intake grate. I don't need anywhere near that much to do mine (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourself-Buell-Mods/Custom-airbox-cover).

I'll sell you a chunk if your interested.

Buellysses,

I think I'm going try to swap the front mesh first, but if that fails I will hit you up.

Nice work Nitto.

Have you done the airbox delete? If so, any noticeable gains with the added air?

03Firebolt9R,

Yes I have done the airbox delete. As for power there might be a slight gain, but nothing drastic. Keep in mined that the front of my airbox was open already.

Very nice, very clean & custom. Maybe that will cut down on the - "Awww, your lying to me, that has to be the gas tank" questions.

Actually I have yet to get hear that one. Most of the time I get asked "how fast is it" or "is that a Ducati".

LOL, Even with transluscents, they have to look in and see the air filter before their convinced.

I used super glue to affix the mesh.

Nice work! Kinda makes me want to turn my firebolt into a lightning. By the way, what kind of exhaust is that?

By the way, what kind of exhaust is that?

I believe it's a custom VooDoo exhaust made from a xb9 exhaust.

The exhaust is a prototype Voodoo XXX front exit muffler.

Onelogue, are you still going to Skips on the 24th?
