Hi there i just got my 2009 xb12ss wich is my first buell i´ve been riding japs until now,. I really love the bike but are wondering why it runs so ruff and misses pulses at really low rpm especially when cold, is it just the inrun period so it will slowly fade away or are they like this with stock map? and is there other maps/configurrations at europe sold bikes than us-bikes? (I live in Sweden and bought it new here last week) i really want to know. i will probobly post more questions since i´m new to the hole Buell Thing. =)

They don't like to run cold so you have to let it warm up before riding and if it's anywhere like mine (09 Scg) well it can be anywhere between 2 to 5 min warm up if you don't want any hick up. I hope it help and really I think mine is just a picky one so hopefully for you it's just around 2 mins. For maps well there is XOPTI that make some maps for 08+ bikes but other then him I'm not really sure if anyone managed to crack the ddfi3 ecm.

Have to agree with jsg on the warm up. The breather reroute will help a bit with the low end hiccup/stumble. Beyond that, get in touch with xopti and he should be able to set you up with what you need to get that baby running like it should.
Cheers :D

Every harley and buell I've ridden has had that hick up. It's the nature of the beast when it's cold. Ridendude nailed it, throw that breather reroute on it, and let the monster warm up before riding and you'll be good to go.

Just to be clear; The warm up happen as you're driving it, with as little throttle as possible. The bike should run standing still for as long as it takes to get your helmet and gloves on.

1001 nailed it. Let it idle, standing still, for long enough to gear up - usually less than a minute. Take it easy for the first few miles then you can nail it. Here's a link for the Breather Re-route w/ Pics (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourself-Buell-Mods/How-To-Crank-Case-Breather-Mod-with-pics). It will help some with the lower RPM hiccups. The closest you will come to eliminating them is a custom Xoptiinside.com map - which is well worth it.

It's far from a jap bike, and it doesn't like lower RPM's. To me it's all part of the Buell character and a lot of why I love mine. ;) Welcome to the Forum & the Madness! :D[up]

Also, here's a great thread for the Buell newb: New Bueller Info (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/General-Motorcycle-Chat/for-the-new-buellers-here...)
